I'd like to see the combination, but only if we already have a solid (15+) lead. Or maybe against Texas where we could use their size (and they're not likely to hurt us with speed at the 4). Still, I'm guessing we'd have to install new sets/strategies on both ends to do it, which I'm guessing is why we haven't yet.

Some people on here ***** about our lack of play calls, but in college basketball, you can run a few fairly simple plays that are really, really hard to stop consistently over the course of the game, if you have better players, and they run it well.

One thing I will say is we need to start making our offense run through our post more often. If the last 3 games are any indication, they are clearly over pressuring the perimeter forcing our guards to work extra for passes. In theory, this should open up driving lanes for our guys but the pressure seems to pull them out of their game. If you watched when our posts got the ball inside, the whole defense collapses in which is what we need to give more space to our guards. Watching this team take so many shots one step inside the 3 point line makes me rage. THE dumbest shot next to 5 feet beyond the arc one can shoot and we do it about 10-15 times a game. If that is your shot option, pass the ball. But to me, the post opens up everything when you run 4 shooters in the game.

When you’re playing as poorly as we were on Saturday, trying some different things has some value imo.

We couldn’t stop penetration with 4 guards. Maybe Lard and Conditt together could have altered enough shots to help, but Lard is not good in helping already overmatched guards stay in front. I thought maybe we’d try some zone. It could not have been worse.
