All valid points above BUT it’s ridiculous that this game isn’t sold out.
I don’t know, my favorite part of football is seeing the clock guy run onto the field with a timer that is slower than the timers at my gym. While I agree, I think this is definitely more true for basketball than football. Basketball has a lot more constant action, even with the timeouts, and it’s half the time commitment.
I would agree. I find the in person benefits of basketball to be a stronger offering over TV than football.
Dumbest thing I’ve read in a whileIt also didn’t help losing to two G5 teams last season.
Is that a euphemism??Yeah but can you pump up the burrito from the couch? Or smile for the delta dental cam?

Okay. Losing to two G5 teams should’ve helped ticket sales.Dumbest thing I’ve read in a while
Sorry, the educated fan doesn’t give a rip about last year. The educated fan sees the potential of the team this year, and understands that last year was last year. Was it disappointing losing to Ohio and Memphis, sure, but we have an opportunity to make a CCG/playoff game, and you rotters are still playing the “We LoSt To TwO g5 sCHoOlS lAsT YeAr”Okay. Losing to two G5 teams should’ve helped ticket sales.
That SaintBillSnyder KSU fan on Twitter sure pumped up the beefy 5 layer burrito last week...Yeah but can you pump up the burrito at home?
There are less than 300 tickets left on Ticketmaster. Not counting the resale market of course.
It’ll sell out!
You’re probably right. Going 9-4 and winning a bowl game vs going 7-6 and losing to two G5 teams probably didn’t impact season ticket sales at all. I wonder what did.Sorry, the educated fan doesn’t give a rip about last year. The educated fan sees the potential of the team this year, and understands that last year was last year. I had season tickets for many years and took my 3 small children, even as babies, to all the football games.
My kid's are now involved in high school speech, AYSO soccer, fall baseball etc. I can't drive the two hours to get to Ames while fitting in their activities.
I hate that I can't make it out to as many games as I used to but I am not going to ask my kids to limit their activities either.
Looking forward to finding a time to get to Ames in November when my calendar slows down and when my kids get older I will be back to being a season ticket holder.

After ISU went 4-8 in 2022 they sold the second most season tickets ever in 2023. What impacted that? You’re probably right. Going 9-4 and winning a bowl game vs going 7-6 and losing to two G5 teams probably didn’t impact season ticket sales at all. I wonder what did.

The TV timeouts have definitely ruined the feel of the games. It's bordering on unwatchable for me sometimes. There isn’t an unlimited supply of fan money. Donate to the school, donate to WeWill, buy season tickets, buy parking passes, buy food/drinks for tailgating…it all adds up to a huge financial commitment by fans. Add in that sitting at home and watching games on TV is much easier.
I’d argue that the live experience of college football is so bad now (outside of the actual game) due to the number of TV breaks, it’s a contributor too.
But even without technical sellouts, Iowa State is better than most.
