Will somebody please buy UNI something better than 8MM Cameras?

Seriously. I honestly think either ISU or UNI's students could have put on a better broadcast. Also, in the first few minutes of the game I learned we were in the Big 10, and still coached by Chewie (even after they spent 5 minutes talking about Hoiberg as the new coach).

I mean it was just freaking awful.

At one point UNI was still coached by Greg McD, according to the announcers. The Black and White was nice for awhile, took me to a simpler time. It sucked when the contrast was so bad it looked like they were playing on the surface of the sun.

It honestly hurt my eyes. I mean Scotty is pale enough people.

Agreed. Almost as bad as the Texas Tech broadcasts.

Note to the whole "my wife won't watch high def" thread: If you were watching the ISU/UNI game, and flipped over to any game being broadcast in HD, you'd make a convert for life.

The broadcast wasn't done by UNI students? Ok, now they have no excuse. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt.

and quit talking about beating Kansas last year over and over. Yah, it WAS last year, nothing to do with this year.

Watching the game made me feel is if I'd traveled in time back to 1973. Unfortunately I was unable to change out of the awful dickey my mother dressed me in for my kindergarden picture.

This is weird and somebody else with Dish Network back me up. I thought the picture looked great! In fact, I was starting to wonder if it actually WAS an HD feed and they were just showing it in 4:3. Perhaps it was a problem with Mediacom or an issue with KWWL over the air with everyone else, but my view of the game on Dish Network was really good, much better than I was expecting after some of the talk yesterday.

The announcers were terrible, however. Just stumbled over their words all night long.

I have DirecTV. It sucked.

Did I hear them correctly that UNI actually bought the floor from the sweet 16 game? I thought I heard the commentator say that but it sounds so stoopid that I am hoping that I misheard it....especially considering it's a public university using tax money.

Yes they did, the four schools that play at each location can bid on the floor. Probably cheaper than buying a new one.

You are correct. It was less expensive for UNI to buy the floor & repaint it than purchase a completely new floor for the McLeod Center. They were planning on replacing the court before this season, so give UNI some credit for saving taxpayers a few bucks.

I didn't think that any broadcast could make me long for a Mediacom Connections 22 broadcast. I stand corrected. I'll take their pixellated, etch-a-sketch looking broadcast over that any day.

I have Dish Network, and I don't know what youre talking about unless we saw something completely different. I was wishing it would have stayed in black and white. At least it probably wouldn't have hurt my eyes as much. I checked in on ESPN at halftime to see an HD game, and the difference was unreal.

Great. Now there will be a lawsuit from that Spanish woman who says she has the rights to the sun...

By the way, I thought someone was kidding in one post yesterday when they said to prepare for video shot by a cell phone camera. It was obvious they weren't.

That was the single worst production I have ever seen.

Oh, that makes sense if they needed a new floor anyways. Just seems odd that the floor needed replaced since the building isn't that old.

At one point I called my parents in CR and they said the picture was fine so I have no idea what was going on...then again my parents think standard def stuff on an HDTV looks okay too.
