Will Greg McDermott take ISU to post-season play?

NO. Same old stuff. Hilton Magic is officially dead. Wayne Morgan knocked it out putting it on life support, and Greg has pulled the plug. Just when it looks like he might be improving the team, they pull this crap. I don't really have a word to describe how bad it is that a program that has been where ISU has been is losing to South Dakota State at home. What is worse is that this crap has been going on since Greg took over and it shows no signs of letting up. We get through this season at about .500, same old same old next year, and whenever his contract is up, there will be no renewal. I'm not on a ledge, I'm not melting down, I just see nothing that indicates right now that Greg McDermott can and will get ISU basketball back to where it used to be. I hope he proves me wrong, but I'm not holding my breath

I disagree, Wayne brought it back a bit from the downswing from Larry's last couple of years with an up tempo attack. The last year was painful but it still wasn't bad in Greg's first year...This year is terrible...

It's not really a meltdown poll. I only caught the last 10 minutes of the game, and I'm not even emotional or upset at all. I have gotten to the point with our basketball program where I just laugh, instead of being mad. I'm just wondering about the ceiling of this program. I'm not saying "Fire Mac" or being irrational in any way, shape, or form. I do not think that Greg McDermott will coach ISU to a post season tournament, and I am curious as to what others on this board think about that. Why is it, if you start a thread that's at ALL related to another thread, it just get merged and your point/question is basically lost? I think the merging has gotten out of hand.

Unfortunately I have been in apathy mode since the loss of Wes J. Did not buy season tickets this year which I never thought was possible.

The Drake slaughtering last year was enough to put me on the edge of the bandwagon, the 2008 conference season didn't help, then after losing Wes I jumped completely off.

Greg is not a Big 12 caliber coach and I've been saying it for over a year now. The recruiting is acceptable but I'm not convinced in any way that Greg will maximize the talent we bring in. So what hope do we have?

Getting owned on the boards year in and year out by far weaker teams is getting old. Managing personnel as if it's a YMCA game, like it's just for kicks. The lack of anything even resembling a functional offense. I could go on and on. These are trends that have been around for all 3 years now so I don't see them going anywhere.

I still watch all the games but it's come to a point where losing to Hawaii and SDSU isn't a huge surprise anymore.

Yeah right, did you see the point spread he set for the game tonight? It was ridiculous to think that we could even beat a high school team by that much.

His style is not getting it done still in year 3!! I just at this point hope that the players respond and get some more wins. My head hurts with seeing the same mistakes every single game. A coach is suppose to help players learn from their mistakes and to me this is not happening.
