The thing with Talley is he was forced to play many more minutes last year due to injuries/attrition. He plays hard, he's a good defender, adequate ball handler and rebounder. But he can not shoot. Offensively, when he is in the game, it's like playing 5 on 4 for the opposition. I like the guy, but you can't throw him in a lineup with say, Cam. Even Michael would be a stretch. Having multiple liabilities from the 3 point line in the lineup is not recipe for success in this era of basketball. Situationally though, he could be utilized. Say we need to really D up the opponent, or want to play really small and use him at the 5. He was also great against WVU's press last season, so in press-break scenarios he could play. Just have to realize he's a niche player, not a guy who should play regularly (probably).
Lewis is a guy who should get more time IMO. Especially if he is wavering in his commitment to the program. I agree with those who think Prohm should be able to find 5-10 mpg for him to spell the 2 or the 3. Obviously his ball handling wouldn't allow for him to come in and spell Babb, but there's no reason he can't give Haliburton/Wigginton/THT an occasional breather. Throw the kid a bone, unless he's a bad teammate.
