Seven pages in, wow... It's pretty simple to understand for anyone with half a brain of basketball knowledge: 1. There are 2 guys ahead of Conditt that are currently better than him and more experienced, 2. He's a true freshman who is still developing physically and learning what it takes to compete at this level.
If it were not for Young's injury Conditt probably would have been reshirted this year I bet. He is listed at 6-10 216 which he could use some more muscle on that frame to be able to physically hold his ground with some of the top post players in the conference. Lard is 245 and Jacobson 230, both are physically more developed than him at the moment. No one is questioning his talent or effort, the kid has done everything asked of him and I'm sure will be ready the next time his number is called. Highly doubt Prohm is intentionally holding him back for some other reason, where are the threads on why Lewis, Talley, and Griffin don't play more? They all can help this team in ways too but right now there just aren't minutes to go around and if we want to compete for a conference championship you have to put your best players on the floor as much as possible.
Conditt will have his days and he has a bright future here with a lot of potential. You can bet there are games to come this season he will make a big impact for us when he's called on. It's hard to argue with the rotation coach is using right now when we are winning games and 2 of our starters from last year haven't been able to crack the starting 5 yet either. Amazes me how we still have negative Nancy's here that can't just enjoy the team and the success they are having so far and instead want to find a new angle to criticize Coach Prohm.
