Why is Conditt not getting more minutes?

I thought of a way to let everybody have more minutes. In games where we are comfortably ahead near the end (like the Ole Miss game), we on purpose let the other team tie up the game right at the end, so the game goes into overtime. Voila, more minutes for everybody.

Lmao, it's funny people actually think this way. Yeah, because inserting Talley or Conditt for 3 minutes will most certainly turn a 15 point lead into a 15 point deficit.

lol...I love guys like you...I can clearly see how you could come to that conclusion based on what I wrote...

I played soccer for nearly 2 decades...so your basketball conditioning makes me chuckle. Basketball was just a way to stay in shape during the winter...and I wasn't one of the best athletes in the world...and I hate to break it to you...neither were you. :(

Soccer? What's wrong - couldn't catch very well? Does your husband like sports? :)

It isn’t only a question involving Conditt in one specific game. It is a consistent question since he’s been here. He hasn’t had much depth before but this year we have tons. We have 9 players who have shown capable of contributing at points. We had 10 if Young was healthy. Should you play every one of them every game? No, but they all should probably see some time based on matchups and game situations.

I don’t buy the supposed report that he wasn’t healthy anyway. Prohm said he should have gotten him in there after the game. Prohm saying that seems to be a relatively regular occurrence. Maybe other coaches just aren’t honest about it but I find it very frustrating when it keeps happening.

We praise CMC when he says he will always play a player too late rather than too early but CSP gets beat up for perhaps doing the same thing.

It floors me how consistently condescending some posters feel they have to be on a fricken message board.

C'mon man - it takes true guts and manhood to be consistently condescending to REAL people who may kick your corn hole through your pie hole.

How many possessions is that? How many quick TOs can there be? How many busted defense assignments are possible? How fast can a team go on a run of 3-4 buckets? How many FTs can be missed in that time frame?

We're top 20 with arguably our 2 best players coming off the bench. Seems like CSP has most of it figured out and for the stuff he doesn't, hoping he goes somewhere else for coaching tips.

I'm trying to think of a way to mention little red head girl in this and all threads.
I'm also listening to Big Log right now....what an under-rated tune.
I am also drinking Ice Hole....one bottle almost down.

all players in uniform should play 30 minutes a game.

Except walk-ons.
Or if they foul out.

My rotation math is bad but i’m sure Prohm can make it happen

Against Ok St, KU, and Ole Miss there were opportunities to play Conditt more than four total minutes, if he was healthy. His dad said on Twitter that he wasn’t sick, but maybe he wasn’t correct.

Regardless of being sick or not I would like his dad to keep his mouth shut on Twitter about such things. It doesn’t do anyone any good

The thing with Talley is he was forced to play many more minutes last year due to injuries/attrition. He plays hard, he's a good defender, adequate ball handler and rebounder. But he can not shoot. Offensively, when he is in the game, it's like playing 5 on 4 for the opposition. I like the guy, but you can't throw him in a lineup with say, Cam. Even Michael would be a stretch. Having multiple liabilities from the 3 point line in the lineup is not recipe for success in this era of basketball. Situationally though, he could be utilized. Say we need to really D up the opponent, or want to play really small and use him at the 5. He was also great against WVU's press last season, so in press-break scenarios he could play. Just have to realize he's a niche player, not a guy who should play regularly (probably).

Lewis is a guy who should get more time IMO. Especially if he is wavering in his commitment to the program. I agree with those who think Prohm should be able to find 5-10 mpg for him to spell the 2 or the 3. Obviously his ball handling wouldn't allow for him to come in and spell Babb, but there's no reason he can't give Haliburton/Wigginton/THT an occasional breather. Throw the kid a bone, unless he's a bad teammate.

I don’t know where Talley is with meeting the requirements Prohm has for him. His 3-PT shot, at ~21% for his college career, is obviously not only not a strength, but a bit of a liability. His FT%, which is <60% is a lability , especially at the end of tight games. However, someone saying it is like playing 4 on 5 while he is on the floor on offense just isn’t true. he is shooting over 50% from the field this year, and was above 45% last year playing extended minutes. He was pretty good at putting the ball on the floor and attacking the rim. He is tall enough and long-armed enough to get his shot off in the lane. I am not advocating for more playing time, as I will let coach make that call, but let’s not say falsehoods.

As far as FT percentage goes, yes, he struggled last year. However he shot .711 his freshman year and .635 his sophomore year both on a lot more attempts than last year. I'm not sure what is going on with his shot but he is capable of shooting it much better from the line.
