At this point if we only win 2 more, I think some of us would be disappointed. And that feels like a crazy statement to make
If we can at least beat Baylor and KU (home game) then the rest is gravy. Wish BYU wasn’t in Provo. It’s not that BYU is really good or anything, but it’s the old trip to Colorado type of deal back when they were in the Big 12 the first time. Just a very tricky away atmosphere.

It’s on the road but we need to beat Baylor. They suck.

Not exactly sure.
Oh I know all about food poisoning had it very bad twice including my sophomore year (1999) before the Iowa game.

Thursday night woke up in the middle of the night needing to puke. Ran to the dorm restroom and puked my guts out. Crawl back to my dorm room and sleep on the floor with the trash can right next to me. Friday morning I tried to get up to go to class and had no energy. Rested in my dorm room until like noon, still no energy. Called the football trainer who had me go to student health. While in the waiting room at student health I almost passed out so they put me in a room to lay down. Doc Shulman ended up giving me a pill, said "DO NOT TAKE THIS UNTIL YOU ARE BACK IN YOUR ROOM BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO KNOCK YOU OUT".

Once back in my room I took the pill and went to sleep. I wake up to the phone ringing and answer it, it's my dad. I look at the clock and it says 7:30 so I think it is 7:30 AM Sat but it is really 7:30 PM Friday because I was in such a deep sleep. My Dad says "they will meet me after the game tomorrow outside the locker room after the game". Every time he says tomorrow I correct him to "Today" since I thought it was Saturday morning. That call ends and he probably thinks I'm high or something.

I get on my computer and see my gf is online with AOL instant messenger (she was at UGA for a semester). I message her and ask why she is up so early (since I still think it's Saturday morning". She's like "uhhh what's wrong with you, why do you think it's the morning, I'm going to call you". So she calls me and tells me it's 7:30 PM to which I freak out thinking it's 7:30 PM Saturday and I am missing the game. It didn't help that I could see the stadium lights on since practice was a night walkthrough since it was a night game. She gets me calmed down and to realize it's only Friday night.

But holy **** whatever that pill Doc Shulman gave me ****** me up but made my stomach feel better.
You definitely got it worse than I did.

There's a lot of football to be played, but OSU's schedule going forward is pretty favorable. With that being said, I like the direction of our team and our remaining schedule.
Yeah, certainly feels like a year that the middle will beat up on each other, an upset here or there....so that KSU game likely will be a big one for us.

I agree...feeling good about our shot in any of the upcoming games.

I hate to say it, but I think KSU will end up being the 2/3rd best team in the league. They returned a lot from last year, and have the best remaining schedule. Their last six games four are at home and they only have to go to UT and KU.

I looked at the KSU and TT remaining schedules; they reminded me of the big ten west almost.

Food poisoning is throwing up, bowel movements are not part of it to my knowledge.

Unless you've lost the mechanism to throw up (like I have - I haven't puked since I got alcohol poisoning on my 25th b-day and I haven't puked since, almost 20 years) - then it's bowel movements and it's twice as miserable.

Guess I’m odd. Had it twice and both times I thought I had it and was able to walk to the bathroom, kneel down, open my mouth and just throw up. Did it a couple times each time and that was basically it.

Both teams still have to go to Austin to play UT, which would be like playing the best three from the Big easy East side. But overall, you are correct.

Depending on how things break it could determine the bowl hierarchy for both teams. A lot of football still to be played, but it's fun to be talking about the possibility of bowl eligibility again. Baylor and Cincy next week will be interesting as far as knowing what to expect from the Bears.

The middle beating is in full swing. I think we learned something about BYU today seeing them get crushed by a TCU team coming off a painful loss with a backup QB. The BYU comparison to Colorado is spot on; 4900 ft of elevation a long way from home. KU fell today, Tech looked out of sorts. Most importantly we proved last week wasn't a fluke and actually built a little momentum.

ISU really has to get healthy during the off week and play it one game at a time. Lets face it, we have not had a lot of success @Baylor, then we come home to KU, who should have their QB back by then. He is one of the better QB's in the league, then we get to play at altitude @BYY, come home to UT and then finish up on the road to KSU.

Right now, I would take two wins the rest of the way, and would be giddy getting three wins, any more than three is just gravy, but man it would be great to take down UT at home.

Also make sure we have requested the tents at Baylor during the bye week.

You do know that symptoms from food poisoning widely vary. You can literally die from food poisoning.

I thought it was discussed on a pod too, that norovirus was running rampant through the team

He didn't play but Noel gets my MVP vote that day. To even suit up and stand there in the sun for 4 hours with that virus takes levels of courage.

Agreed. Many years ago, my employer held regional meetings at arguably the nicest hotel in Madison, WI. We all departed for home mid-morning Friday and I threw up twice on Friday night, then was fine by Saturday morning. Once people began to talk on Monday morning, we learned the full extent of the event, with over forty people taken ill. Most threw up a time or two and quickly recovered, while three were hospitalized. Crazy stuff, and really disgusting once the Health Department completed their investigation and we learned the cause of our food poisoning.
