Gotta be Benton...I saw him limping pretty bad on a kickoff...

Not that you mention that, I remember that. But, I think it was on a punt? It was mid-way through the 1st quarter. He was being blocked in the back, and it looked like he made the tackle with his leg. He didn't seem to be limping too bad. But, I don't remember seeing him out there the rest of the game...

*Edit* I've been re-watching the 1st half. And although that weird tackle did occur midway through the 1st quarter, he was back out there most of the half. The last play I saw him in was when we punted, with about 2 minutes left in the 1st half. I didn't see him after the snap. But, on the next possession, O'Connell was in there in the nickel. So, I'm guessing that's when the injury occurred, or was realized...

It's Benton, Rhoads announced it. Benton broke it in the first half, pretty early, then played on it the rest of the first half. They found out at half time that it was broken. CPR said he assumes he is done for the season.

It must have been on that punt coverage tackle that I noted before. Something just didn't see right about the way his leg moved on that. He played the rest of the half on it and didn't seem that out of whack. Maybe it's something that could be healed in time for a potential bowl game?

In Rhoads's post game presser he was saying that Benton kept trying to sneak out onto the field to play but they forced him to sit out for the game. Said he was crying in the looker room. Said his season is most likely done! Bummer...

Watched the game again yesterday and I believe Benton hurt his leg on the punt return where it looked like he tripped the NU returner. You could definitely notice him hobbling the rest of the half.

While it's dumb to try to keep playing on that kind of injury, I do love the heart of this team.
