The owner of west towne is an *******.

I have a friend who had applied for a job there waitressing. She says that she was somewhat promised a job but had to go in for an interview. She may be fudging up the part about being promised the job but whatever. She ended up not getting the job, and now she has nothing but bad things to say about the restaurant. She may just be upset about not getting the job, but I doubt it because she has a much better job now. Anyway, I hadn't heard anything negative about the place until now. Maybe there's something to it.

Let's just say that he is the reason I had to go to court, and had all charges dropped.

Why did Qdoba close down?

For us, we think it was a customer service issue when they first opened. They tried to rush us through their line so fast, and did not seem to appreciate that we needed to ask questions or learn the menu. (Even happened when there was not a long line) They did not even ask if we had addition things we wanted just to get us through and done. So it was hard to go back due to the bad service.

Loved the food though.

We always loved Qdoba and were really bummed when they closed. Never had a problem with customer service there either - staff was always friendly and the manager nearly always would come by the table to see how everything was. After they closed, a friend ran into the manager around town and asked why they closed. It was a matter of not enough people coming through the door. I think if they had been in a stand-alone building (like Chipotle' will be) or in a higher traffic strip mall location, they would have done better. That building was pretty isolated, in spite of being next to the Super WallyWorld.

I have never been desperate enough to go back to Pancheros since the first time I went with others 16 years ago. It's the blandest "Mexican" food I've ever tasted; a complete waste of money.

Drove by Cazador this evening, noticed they had closed.

What? Is it just temporary while the owner is on vacation? I hope so! I love that place. And I really appreciate the investment they have made in West Ames.

There was a sign on the door indicating they were closed for good. No idea why.

Bummer. They made a nice investment in West Ames. I wonder if they got hurt in the expansion of El Azteca. Cazador was my preference.

So, a Wendy's guy doesn't get along with the West Towne Pub guy. Restaurant wars! Fighting for the prime W spot in the phone book?

Whatever else may be true about him, the owner of West Towne is a big Cyclones fan!

I heard something about a relative of the owners trying to start a new restaurant somewhere else and that they were changing ownership of Cazador within the family, but I guess that must not have panned out.
