The Mayor needs to light a huge fire under these guys, especially the upper classmen. I think BDJ will start playing the best bball of his career and help get us to the Sweet 16 where he goes 2-13 and we lose.
I know this is just a prediction thread, but that's awfully specific... especially considering BDJ has only taken 13 shots in a single game three times as a Cyclone and never more than 13, and he's only had one game in which he shot that poor of a percentage.

It doesn't.
Don't you and gocubs2118 know that the only way to be a true fan is to shell out thousands for season tickets? Never mind if you live out of town or occasionally have other things going on, thus making season tickets less worthwhile. You MUST buy season tickets to be a real fan!

Such a stupid post. I never once said you can only be a fan if you have tickets. I said the person in question for not watching the game has season tickets and won't miss a game.

Others have alluded this before, however.

Definitely. It wasn't my intention in my reply though. It definitely looks like it but I was just trying to back someone who is a fan and won't miss a game. Obviously a mistake on my part.

It is amazing how peoples opinions have changed about this team in a week. Had this poll gone up last week there would be a ton of votes for getting getting at least to the sweet sixteen. The 2 losses do not change my mind Baylor is a good team and it's hard to win any big 12 game on the road. The one week changed peoples thinking from at least sweet sixteen to getting beat in the first round and this season being a bust. After tonight's win everyone will be back on the bandwagon. Final four baby!

Holy crap. I feel bad for Thompsonclone. Some posters are just relentless on here. Don't act like you don't know very well what he meant. Pretty tough not to see a game if you are physically there.

Nothing like a good BM to start the morning off right.

Agreed. Some will just post the same thing over and over and over.

I apologize if it was already posted, but last year we lost 2 of the last 3 in the regular season. If not for the craziness of the OSU game would of been 3 in a row. Sure, this team is different from last year, but it is still hard not to trust Fred is March.

The 2 losses should rock your confidence in this team. I've never seen a team get up 8 or 10 points and then just completely quit playing like this team does. They got up 14 on K-State and took a break and before you know it the lead was down to 4, they turned it on again and got the lead back to 10, then took a break and it dwindled down to 2, then they cranked it up and got the lead back to 12 again, then took another break and watched K-State come back and take the lead. Then the epic meltdown happens again. Careless turnovers, poor clock management, poor shot selection late in games (Niang forcing contested shots or just chucking up quick shots rather then running the offense), etc...

Teams that play that inconsistently (by choice) do not make runs in the NCAA Tournament. They get bounced in the opening round by mid majors that come in hungry and want to prove they belong.

I said Sweet 16 again. We still have a lot of talent and players that are experienced in the NCAA tournament. Niang will come out of his mental slump- he's too good and has too much to prove after last year's injury. Also, we are still going to be VERY tough to prepare for teams that don't play us 2 or 3 times a year. That said, I don't think we have the mental toughness to advance beyond that, sadly.

I completely agree with all of this.

I completely agree with all of this.

The good thing in all of this is that it's fixable, it won't take weeks of practice, it won't take players only meetings, it won't take fiery speeches by Hoiberg, etc...

It will take decisions by each individual player that they will play hard on defense, they will value possessions on offense, they will focus on the task at hand, and they will play as a team no matter what the score is.
