I am absolutely smitten with my I4 M50. It's everything I hoped it would be. Very comfortable. Drives great. And when you switch from Eco to Sport mode? Look out. I had the level 2 charger installed a few weeks ago, and it just makes everything so easy.
Man, I really kind of want one of these. Great reviews, Consumer Reports loves them, of all people, usually CR only likes Japanese cars. It's flashy. I have solar already, but would need more panels, although not too worried about that.

But for me this would mostly be a winter/bad weather car - when its nice I drive the convertible or the motorcycle. What's your thoughts on it as a bad weather car? Range impacts, handling, et al.

Yeah, that's exactly my hesitation. A cheaper small SUV would be a lot more practical. But a lot less cool LOL.

I'm not even a guy that spends money on cars really, but could if inclined.

Definitely notice the range hit when it's cold. Haven't had a ton of opportunities to drive on bad roads, but the little I've done has been fine.

I'm all in on the new Scouts. They look incredible.
Going to be hard to wait 2 more years and I hope they keep up with the expectations of the prototype
I told my wife that the other day too. I'm probably 5 years out from buying a new vehicle unless god forbid I get in a wreck and total out my truck but when that time comes I'm going to look real hard at those scouts.

I prefer both cheap and reliable.

High quality and cheap. Just like my t-shirts.

This is the CF way.

Random: The Polestars are pretty handsome looking rides. One caught my eye in a parking lot earlier this week and I happened to walk by the "showroom" in St. Louis Park last night.

Well, not to cave this....but a tesla is the only EV I would buy. Dad has had Chevy and Ford offers......especially Ford Mach E and he couldn't give it back fast enough. Love the look of tesla anyway.
I have had a Mach E for a few years now and love it. Really curious why your dad couldn't give it back fast enough.

Yeah, I've got a co-worker who has one as well, and absolutely loves it. This is his 3rd full electric, (Tesla and ID.4) and he says that the Mach E is his favorite of the three.

My only gripe with our Mach E is someone is hammered drunk on the computer side of things. You never get the m/kw it claims and the range calculation is hot garbage.

Well that’s an interesting marketing strategy.

We all drive with sensors too, Tesla... what do you think the speedometer is for example. They thinking people are just eyeballing speed??

Also, self-driving is supposed to be an improvement over what us meatbags do when driving. Why the hell would I not want it using lidar, radar, cameras, and every other possible sensor to do it better? I already have trust issues with driving. Don't need Tesla low-balling what it takes to get self-driving to a safe place...

You’re killing me

An EV AND a great car?

There's already a lot of artificial intelligence on CF...
Haha, I see what you did there. CycloneFanatic definitely has its share of “intelligent” (and not-so-intelligent) commentary. Are you referring to AI-like, repetitive talking points, or just the general lack of independent thought in some discussions?

Not to cave this but I'll never buy a Tesler. I see a lot of Rivian's in the city I'm in and those are awesome. Have a great design to them. I don't use a car often but if I ever make the move to the burbs I'll seriously consider one
Lots of Rivians in and around Minneapolis. My wife is not a car person at all but if she could pick any car she would get a Rivian. She loves how they look. Hopefully some day we can afford one

I had one as a rental for a week about a year and a half ago. I really liked it and would consider a used one. Prices aren’t bad at all for what you get.
