They were -2.5 going in
I watched this game tonight. I had to share a thought that’s probably pretty obvious to most of the CF community. This was the first time this season that I had watched WV play. I have watched OkState play two games and the rest of the conference each play at least four games. The result tonight reinforced the feeling that I have that on any given night in the Big 12 conference, any team stands a reasonable chance to beat any other team in the league. It appears to me from what I have seen, I must agree with what I have heard from the announcers from recent games, that there really are no bad teams in the Big 12. This makes the Cyclones accomplishments so far in conference play all the more impressive to me. This team is so much fun to watch and I can’t wait to watch them play the rest of the conference schedule and beyond to both of the tournaments!

WVU has TCU's number. I think that's 11 straight losses for TCU in Morgantown...never have won there. And WVU was favored despite being 0-5 in the league.

seriously, though, that's an unexpected stat considering the volatility in the conference.

at WV has an argument to make for the toughest place to play in the conference. On top of a pretty raucus crowd, you have to travel halfway across the country. That travel thing is a bigger deal than most realize, esp heading east. It throws you off.

Not saying its the toughest home arena, but you can put it up there with phog and hilton, imho.

I have never had a problem with 1 hour time changes. Flying to Europe might be a different story.

Beating mid and lower conference standing teams at their place is going to decide who wins the conference, in my opinion. No one will expect to win in Hilton, Phog, or even the Octagon but which of the top teams will snag consistent victories against OSU, OU, WV, Tech, etc.

My step-grandpa (?) was an agronomy prof at ISU, and, coincidentally, a West Virginian. The “West By God” was a way to draw a distinction between them and the vile confederates to the East.
I lived in Maryland in the 80. Everything west of the Appalachians was considered "the West" by locals. My neighbor once told me " We just got back from out West. We visited my in laws in Ohio."
