I'm not even sure why the heck there needs to be a playoff. There already is a 14 team playoff for the college football national title going on in the Southeastern part of the country.

If I was in the SEC, the first person I would ask, "Who should be national champion?" would definitely be a Cyclone.

Those defending Ohio State...how can you use the argument that they are undefeated and reigning champs when last year everyone was dogging Florida State for being in the exact same situation? They went undefeated 2 years in a row and the majority of people on here were saying they didn't deserve to be in the playoff. How is it and different this year with Ohio State?

Just some food for thought

So true, so true. It obviously should be Alabama v LSU again cause that was such a "great game". What a snoozer.

I thought it would be fun to see everyone's thoughts on what they feel will be the rankings in the BCS this Tuesday. Let's just do the top 10, and you can add others receiving votes if you want.

Here are last weeks rankings:
http://www.collegefootballplayoff.com/view-rankings#week-9

Here are the AP Rankings after this weekend:
http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings

My thoughts:
1. Clemson
2. Bama
3. Ohio St.
4. ND
5. Baylor
6. Okie Light
7. LSU
8. Iowa
9. Florida
10. OU

Others: Standford, Utah, TCU and MSU

made a few changes, however from actually watching the games I would have it

1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. tOSU
4. ND
5. OU
6. Okie St
7. Baylor
8. Iowa
9. LSU
10. Florida

I trust Urban Meyer more than Fischer plus Winston was a dumpster fire ready to explode. OSU still has a ton of talent and when they click they will be special.

Iowa's schedule was not very strong. I don't think they should even be rated this high even though they are undefeated. The wouldn't be undefeated in the Big XII, that is for sure.

You are right, its not that strong. But at this point, its much stronger than Baylor or even Ohio State.

Baylor hasn't played a team with a winning record (!). They are 5-0 in conference and have played the bottom 5 teams. Iowa at least has wins over 3 winning teams NW, Wisc, and Pitt.

Ohio State's marquee wins are Penn State and NIU.

That all changes soon while Iowa has a creampuff schedule, but, as of right now, Iowa should right there with Baylor and OSU.

Iowa #2? Seriously dude? Dream on. Iowa might move up 1 spot...(1). Lsu could still be ahead of them...should be. Okie st will pass Iowa. You don't move up 7 spots by beating a bad Indianna team by a TD.

Looking at the list above, I can easily see a shutout for Pac12 and B12. The committee appears to be very arbitrary. Hoks at #5. Woooow. Can this be?

I don't have a problem with Iowa where they are. Undefeated vs a mediocre schedule sure, but I'll give them this....they have that 9th win. Baylor is at 8-0.

I don't really get the commentary about the concern for baylor just yet from the ESPN guys. I think their performance despite a crappy SOS has shown they have impressed the committee to the point that they are fringe playoff team who hasn't played anyone. Baylor just needs some sizzle.

Was shocked OSU didn't move up a bit more, but if the TCU offense continues its high scoring ways, this win will continue to look better and better. Dunno how their resume stacks up with Iowa, but this is a far greater win than what Iowa has.

Maybe I'm just stuck in the moment, but while i think this weekly countdown was exciting last year, this season seems to be laying out way better with all the intersecting games yet to be played. I guess in this scenario, a highly ranked, non conference affiliated Notre Dame is good for an interesting angle. They can either lock out 2 conferences or leave the door wide open for either one.

Side note, I do believe they take a look at common opponents. if OSU blows out ISU by 5 TDs and the game is over at halftime, then the OSU vs Iowa resume takes an even more interesting turn. You then feel they'd have to bump Iowa down in favor of OSU.
