Very poor shooting tonight. We got 30+ points from Hogue tonight. No one else had a good offensive game. Not one other guy. Niang on the bench didn't miss foul shots and layups.

The difference would have been in the first half. Niang's play would have at minimum kept it much closer in the first half. Hogue going absolutely nuts in the second half shows what could have happened in the first half.

I agree with you Final42B. I don't know why so many are roasting you. Niang makes a huge huge difference.

Because it's an excuse. We had plenty of opportunities to win this game by just doing a few simple things better. Sure, GN would have helped a lot, but it doesn't change the fact that until the last 2 minutes, the only one on the team that seemed to be playing was Hogue.

I have always thought it is bad manner to say we would have won without injuries. Great season by the cyclones. Lots of fun to watch this year

Stop with the Hawkeye excuses! We lost!!! Period! We could've won, but we didn't. Does it suck? Yep. Accept it. We'll reload and be back next year.

Its tough to accept that Kane who was the only NBA player on the court (Napier is not) and almost had a triple double absolutely killed his team and losst teh game at the line after such a solid game.

Sorry for having a legitimate opinion. Look I give Uconn credit, but this team just doesn't feel the same without Georges.

It's not an excuse, just the observation that we were one fractured metatarsal away from the Elite 8.

And a lot of missed free throws and a lot of missed layups. What's the point of bringing up things you can't control? This team had plenty of chances to win this game. They didn't do it. I don't like the Hawkeye excuses floating around, but while we are at it, I'll add one, "If we'd have played UCONN at the beginning of the season we'd have won."

EDIT, just realized I need to shut it down tonight. Too many posts are going to **** me off tonight. I apologize to anyone I may have offended. I'll see you all tomorrow. Just don't forgot to give these guys a hand, it was a great season.

I get that excuses are worthless, but road game without our only true big man. Nobody should tear anybody apart for bringing up obvious huge factors. Great season, program strong.

You can't say that with Niang we win that game for sure, I don't think there's any question that our team is better with Niang than without him, but whether that translates into a win depends on a lot of other factors.

Hogue doesn't have half the game he does if Niang is playing. Offense was ice cold for a majority of the game. I don't think Niang was the difference here at all.

Bottom line, we'll never know if we beat then with Niang. I'm going to drink myself into the 2015 season tonight. Someone wake me up in November.
