Yeah because giving Herman extra time really matters half the time. He could have five minutes and it wouldn't matter, the defense would still know what he's going to call
So you're one of the guys I was referring to earlier....

Dude, you are a MORON!!!
It's called discipline. The refs had nothing to do with Iowa State not getting into the end zone. The Texas defense had also had a lot to do with that.
You think just because ISU beat Texas in Austin last year that you would be able to do the same this year - wake up!
ISU shot themselves in the foot last night. ISU went in thinking they were the better team when clearly you and I know that Texas is and was the better of the two.
When Texas is the visiting team, we expect Texas to get the bad calls, not the other way around. Texas is considered the evil empire in college football - EVERYONE wants to mess with Texas!
There was a lot of moronic behavior in the stands. Booing at every call.
When multiple refs toss a flag on a play - it's likely there is a legitimate call. Nevermind we are one of the most undiciplined teams in the nation - it has to be the refs out to get us...
They aren't the smartest bunch in the world. If we lost to Texas 37-14, then what would Iowa lose to them by? Maybe 48-10 or something? Us losing does not make Iowa look better.[/QUOTE]
This. It makes them look like ****. That's why I don't understand why they would cheer for Texas.:skeptical:
Come on. If ISU lost to Iowa this year and Iowa was a big win away from being ranked you can't tell me you wouldn't be rooting against the Hawks.
Not to mention, strength of schedule doesn't really mean anything to Iowa at this point.

I heard a lot of pumped up fans in the stands before and during the first quarter, including myself. I had nearly lost my voice by game time. I heard a few choice words for the officials.
I spent the second half in the parking lot drinking and kicking beer cans through makeshift uprights with a couple buddies.
I did not have any bad interactions with UT fans yesterday while tailgating or in the game. Everyone I talked to seemed very well mannered. This was a big change from the previous home game (vs. Iowa).
I hope you guys don't mind a visitor's perspective on this thread. First, you guys have a great tailgating scene. My brother and I arrived around noon and wandered around the lot east of the stadium meeting lots of great people while getting free food/drinks and I learned how to play tippy-cup. There was some ribbing of course but nothing to mean spirited. Truly a elite level pre-game atmosphere.
The stadium is very nice, I saw a comment that reported a Texas fan as saying "It's like a Texas high school stadium", that's not true, while there are a few HS stadiums that do seat close to 40K most big time HS stadiums seat in the 10K range. None are as nice as Jack Trice.
We sat in section O and seemed to be the only Texas fans in our area. After tailgating all day we arrived ready to make some noise and probably were a little over zealous in our support of the horns early on which brought about some banter from the home crowd, but again it was good natured and we wound up joking with them for the most part.
Most of the negative stuff was about us "buying off the refs" or "ruining the conference" things like that. The really only mean spirited comment that sticks out is when the ISU player had to be carted off in the third, my brother and I stood up to clap, and the fan in front of us turned around and told us he thought we would enjoy seeing a ISU player hurt. But he had been sipping at his flask and obviously disappointed in the game and some of the penalties, so I let it slide.
Great fans, great stadium, great college game-day experience, I hope the Big12 stays together so I can keep coming back.
Did you kick pretty well? You should try out for the team!!:twitcy:

This kind of thinking is unfortunately what me and my family were subjected to on Saturday night. Behind us was an Iowa Hawkeye fan with his girlfriend. It was apparent that she went to Iowa State but knew very little about football. From the kickoff the gentleman was belittling Iowa State and making condescending remarks about the stadium, the fans, the atmosphere and the team. After the Lenoard Johnson incident I had had enough and lit into him.
It stopped for a little while and then started back up in the 4th quarter. When we left (had 3.5 hour drive that night) with 9 minutes to go in the game the girlfriend starting mouthing off.
People need to think twice about bringing Iowa fans to our games. If they want to cheer for us or remain silent then bring them. But the last thing our fans need is to be subjected to that type of B.S.

Why would Iowa fans even want to come to the game at all? I can't imagine any circumstance where I would find myself watching an Iowa game against anyone other than ISU on TV, let alone in freaking kinnick stadium.
Just like all the damn Hok fans who came to Arrowhead in '02 to cheer for Florida State while decked out in chicken hawk gear. Don't care about their "little brother" huh? Whatever, loser.

Heard a group of 3 Texas fans say these were the worst fans they have ever encountered (this was up by concession stands toward the end of the 2nd quarter). This blew me away.
