Vesuvius pizza= best pizza in Ames?

Just ate there for the 2nd time. I can confidently say it is the best pizza in Ames. Your thoughts?

If it is authentic Italian, I bet it is. Haven't tried it yet, though. I'm sure it is the same with others, but really depends on what you're in the mood for.

Have eaten there several times when in Ames. Unique woodfired pizza. My wife and I have enjoyed it every time. Price is right too.

Great Plains is the best, then Black Market, with Vesuvius third (eat there almost every monday for the 1/2 off deal.

Great Plains easily, Black Market is just trrble, I'd really like to get to Vesuvius one of these days but I just never think of it.

Never had it - headed out there in a couple weeks, might have to give it a try.
Black Market is pretty good if you don't mind a wait, Casey's hits the spot, but when we were students - Jeff's Pizza usually won because it was close and we had coupons.

Tried Great Plains our freshman year based on all the raves and actually didn't like it at al :-\

Great Plains is good, but its so f'n doughy. I wish they would make a deep dish there, I feel like they could have a good Gino's type of pizza.

Vesuvius is ok, but i prefer Great Plains and Jeff's to them. But i'm not a huge fan of vesuvius's style of pizza, so its kind of a what kind of pizza do you prefer thing.

You want Smotharella Sticks from Jeff's Pizza. Like pokey stix but better.

Casey's has good pizza, relative to the fact that they are a c-store. But it doesn't qualify as "good pizza".

It's definitely a preference thing. I hate vesuvius personally, it tasted like smoked cardboard with hardly any topping. I love Chicago style so Black Market is probably my favorite followed by Great Plains.

You CAN'T go wrong with a Casey's pizza either.
