I didn't know we were discerning between different types of recruiting misses.
I specified transfers.

If Fred wants these players, then I want these players. He has done pretty well with his transfer choices thus far.

But it was more of something where I looked back on what I had posted and realized I could still be right if I got technical (petty).

If Pelle is good enough to be one and done he's obviously the better choice.

There is a difference between a player who merely thinks they are good enough to leave after one year and a player who is actually good enough to leave after one year and play in the NBA.

At the end of the year if he thinks he should go, then he probably had a pretty good year.

Not from Iowa State. I don't think Fred would allow that. I know it's the kids choice, but Fred would give good advice.

It's hard to say, when we haven't crossed that bridge yet. We have no idea exactly where Royce will go.

Fred can only advise. He can't chain a guy up who's got his mind made up.

Keep bringing in guys who legitimately can consider it.

Exactly. You don't have to have lottery pick, 1-and-done'rs to win in college basketball.

Guys that are even in the conversation to be NBA draftees will get you pretty far, ala DG, Blalock, Stinson, etc.

If you have 2-3 of those guys with 1-2 legit NBA players on your roster, you can win it all.

You didn't read my whole post. I said it was the kids choice.

You also said Hoiberg wouldn't allow them to leave if they weren't ready, in the same post. So which is it?

I believe Hoiberg wouldn't let a player leave without having gotten the best information available. But he can't stop a player from leaving, when all is said and done.

I voted Pelle and Uthoff because they both have multiple years, but Pelle and Lockett would be the bomb for 2012.

That team could make a deep run with those two next year.

we are going to get all 3. Pelle and Lockett for next year. Uthoff has to sit a year. Lock it up Fred. It is done.
