Most of it was in good taste, but holy hell did UNLV fans give it to us last night. You'd think they just beat USC the way they were laying into us after the game. Definitely the worst I have gotten without being physically assaulted (Iowa City). I am pretty impressed. Needless to say, I hate UNLV from their coach on down (especially their coach ).

Total attendance was only 25,500+.

I'd guess the numbers were MAYBE 2:1 in UNLV's favor, possibly 3:2.

When you win two games a year for four years, winning number three is bigger than big.

I actually had really great UNLV fans around me - the only things that sucked were the ones who kept yelling "Reeebbbeeellls" - that annoying chant that sounds like "airball" or "travel" or something.

Angie LOVES the reeebbbelllllllls chant.

After the game, I had one guy try to give me a hi-five. The douche bag had an Iowa jersey on.

Exactly. I heard one guy asking, "Oh, are they going to do that STUPID cheer again?" referring to "I-S-U, I-S-U." I was within inches of turning around and saying, "With all due respect, 'Rebbbbbbelllls, Rebbbbbelllllls,' has got to be the worst I've ever heard. You ripped off 'airball, airball' and replaced it with 'Rebels'? Good one."

Not sure if you guys noticed or not, but there were numerous fights taking place in the stands among the Rebel Fans. Seriously, who has a physical fight like that among their own?

After the game, we had one fan come up and drop every swear and diragatory word in the book in my face. Luckily I was with some people from a casino that I didn't know, otherwise I probably would have jacked the guy, which isn't even my style. One guy I was with, who was from Kansas, wanted to jump the guy just because he was being a jerk. It was that bad.

By the way 75% of their fans acted after the game, I honestly thought I was in Iowa City. It was pathetic.

Where's the popcorn? I always enjoy these "ignore how bad our own fans can be" threads.

Well, I have not seen a fight in the stadium among our own fans in 20 years of going to games. As for afterwards, most ISU fans don't even think of taunting. Over the years, to celebrate victories, we have just gotten use to uttering the expression "Oh my gosh, we actually won!".
