U.S. Rep trying to get Montana to be able to host playoff games

U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg is asking the NCAA to rethink a rule which could disqualify football teams at Montana and Montana State from hosting playoff games. Officials have been working to prove that Montana's legalized betting on fantasy sports leagues does not violate the NCAA's stance against wagering on the outcome of sporting events. The NCAA has said the University of Montana should not have been allowed to host playoff games last season because the state allows a form of sports gambling. -- Bozeman Daily Chronicle

The NCAA has very little to do with the bowl games. They are usually their own entities. Although, I would agree that if the rules apply to one NCAA event, they should apply to all where NCAA schools are participating. Weather or not it's an official NCAA event.

When was the last time Las Vegas hosted a round of the NCAA Tourney? I can't remember it. I'm thinking hosting the MWC Tourney doesn't have the same standards as hosting the NCAA Tourney.
