I disagree. You can plant more trees, but at what cost? These trees are 200 years old. Any good building architect would be able to find a way to incorporate the trees into the building design. I am shocked that two of some of the oldest trees in Ames are going to be cut down to make room for more college goons. Since 1815 these trees have been around. Ames wasn't even founded at this point. They are older than Ames itself. What right does Iowa State have to remove them?

These trees are worth much more than their montary value indicated (Hackberry - $61,240 and Black Walnut - $30,571). Other states have created laws against removals of these kinds of trees (california for example). It is unfortunate Iowa is still behind the times. It should be an honor to have these trees and protecting them should be Iowa State's mission.

The trunk diameter of the Hackberry and black walnut are 48 and 38 inches thick respectfully. You can plant more trees, but we will never see them be this grand in our lifetime.

I don't really want to be doing anything that California is doing right now.

If this turns into how terrible conventional farming is and how everyone should be vegan and organic, I'm going to be...not surprised. Also annoyed.

Wildlife and endangered animals

Disgusting humans that feel manly for stalking and killing wildlife with high powered rifles are the lowest of the low.

I love eating all kinds of animals. Here is a list of things I've eaten in the past few years (off the top of my head)

Kangaroo, turtle, rabbit, rattle snake, camel, goat, alligator, stingray, bear, shark (farm raised), eel, frog (just the legs), snail, conch, and others.

Each and every one of those animals was delicious.

going for my heart!!! Just like Frank Underwood would.
Iowa does have Runza, Council Bluffs and Clarinda.

Ok I hope Ames and DSM get a Runza. It would be pretty popular I imagine.
Give me 5 fresh and hot Cheese Runzas, a large Frings, soda or shake, and some ranch and I am more than happy.

Noob. I only eat animals if there are less than 50 of its kind remaining in the wild. Next on the list: fried panda. :jimlad:

In all seriousness, from your list I've had shark (not farm raised), goat, rabbit, and conch. Ever had iguana? Pretty tasty, actually. Your list is pretty impressive.

They had a game feed in Cedar Rapids for a fundraiser, and I think I ate 11 different kinds of animal at it. Yum.
