Probably not as an injured, 0-8 teamHave we also overcome 15 plus point leads in our history?

Interesting qualification, we are both injured though.Probably not as an injured, 0-8 team
When was the last Iowa State team to have a lead of 9+ in 8 of their first 9 conference games. Probably a more optimistic way of looking at it. This team’s “good” is Final 4 type good. It’s “bad” in NIT or worse. And each can show up in any 10 minute segment of a game.Really? When was the last time a college basketball team near the top of their conference blew a 20+ point lead with about 10.5 minutes left in a game against a winless/near bottom team in their conference? how many times has it happened in the last decade?
Trying to pass off what happened to ISU last night as "that's just how it works" is rather silly.

But the coaches did not counter at all when Tech went small ball and tried to isolate Jones. That was a disaster for us.Kansas lost three in a row. I don't think it's time to start jumping out windows. It was a team loss. NOBODY played well down the stretch. TT was just way more aggressive on offense and defense. Coaches can call plays, but they can't execute them. The coaches weren't committing all the fouls and turnovers. It was a bad game. They'll bounce back.
It's a historic loss, no doubt, but it is just how it works. We've certainly been on the other side of them before. Teams have lost big leads before and they'll do it again, good teams even. Would it be better if we just got blown out rather than lose a big lead?Really? It also sucks that we get an 11AM Saturday home game... In fact, we have two left... That's some horrible scheduling for us.
It needs to be fixed quickly. It us getting to be a trend at this point. They are obviously folding under pressure when they don't have the Hilton crowd behidn them. It's signs of weak team with no leadership.
I honestly don't remember Hoiberg or Prohm teams choking this badly.
No Prohm's final team just lost 18 games in a row to finish the season.
Have we also overcome 15 plus point leads in our history?

Could have the 2nd half been managed better, yes, but I'm not going to crucify TJ and the coaches.
ISU might have least talented team in the Big12 for the second year in a row, but he has gotten the most out of his guys from his coaching ability/style. They have zero NBA guys, lost their #1 scorer from last year, playing the best conf, and they are still competing for the top spot in the conf. I understand being #1 in the conf has brought high expectations, but I think some people need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture vs the last two games.
If you went back to October most were expecting .500 for the season or less. Things are going pretty good we hit a speed bump and CF loses it's mind.
I think this team is exactly what it is. It is not super talented, but works very hard on defense. Teams are starting to see the weaknesses in the rotations and it is less effective. Same thing happened last year. The biggest concern is the carelessness with the ball. A lot of very nonchalant passes, guards afraid to drive, etc. Maybe 2 road games in a row was too much for the team. In order to blow a 23 point lead you had to get ahead by 23 in the first place. If you went back to October most were expecting .500 for the season or less. I feel they wanted to rest Grill but it just kept getting worse and by the time they got him back in it was too late. But the coaches did not counter at all when Tech went small ball and tried to isolate Jones. That was a disaster for us.
It puts things in perspective when you see that Hoiberg currently has the best conference winning percentage of all time. Eustachy and Floyd are second and third in conference winning percentage and are the only coaches along with Hoiberg who are above .500 (Barely). I hope TJ can surpass that for both this season and career.
It is quite a sobering all-time record. It is funny how Johnny Orr's record seemed so much better at the time.
Nonchalant in all facets of the game. Holmes dribbled off his leg, Shoon caught a pass out front and then...forgot he had the ball or something. Gabe lost a dribble at one point.
I wonder if they take a day or two from the court to rest and reset a bit since there's a good gap between games.
Not really Johnny won at home and lost on the road. but we had a LOT of fun at the home games.
That’s what I meant. It seemed like he won more conference games. I think it’s the memory of the 85-86 season being so powerful. Not really Johnny won at home and lost on the road. but we had a LOT of fun at the home games.
