Maybe we can make a raise contingent on taking a few courses in game management? Or, I don’t know, showing improvement?

While the struggles in September he's had most of his time here are still a problem, he finished with a 6-3 big 12 record and overall 7-5 (potentially 8-5 after the bowl). There's almost no way he doesn't get a perfunctory extension and an adjustment to salary simply to match the market (which is about a million or so more than he's being paid now)

Gee, I wonder if being overly conservative with an inexperienced team might be prudent sometimes...

Probably not when you have Jack Trice booing and announcers spending about two-minutes explaining why you’re playing football wrong during the Iowa game. Or when you are playing against Kansas for a spot in the CCG. Or when you’re losing to a MAC team.

I wondered who that booing asshat was.

We've won at least six conference games three times in our history.

Good play calling, managing the play clock correctly, using timeouts correctly, etc.

Was the play calling good last week and I love how there's apparently 'correct' ways to use the clock.

Part of that is that we play more conference games than we used to.

Sorting those where a 66.7% or better conference record was achieved by year (14 season) --

1908
1911
1912
1914
1915
1917
1919
1931
1938
1944
1977
2018
2020
2023

Half of them were before the Harding administration.

The first ten were before FDR died.

Then there's one lonely postwar one in 1977.

Then there's three from Campbell.

I don't think you disagree with me, but this data only makes the point.

I could maybe call 2000 comparable in conference record at 5-3 for another recent record. Though as you note, even going down to .600, you only add that one additional data point post WWII

Though a big difference there is that when they did lose in 2000, they got blown out. We were competitive in all our losses sans the OU loss.

They did beat Ohio that year though, so point 2000 :jimlad:

Campbell has 50% of our winning conference records.
