Well I stayed home last year. This year I am going to a bowl game.

While the struggles in September he's had most of his time here are still a problem, he finished with a 6-3 big 12 record and overall 7-5 (potentially 8-5 after the bowl). There's almost no way he doesn't get a perfunctory extension and an adjustment to salary simply to match the market (which is about a million or so more than he's being paid now)

The fact that the transfer portal (likely) isn't going to kill us this year with so many young players is a testament to the coach.

Was the play calling good last week and I love how there's apparently 'correct' ways to use the clock.

I could maybe call 2000 comparable in conference record at 5-3 for another recent record. Though as you note, even going down to .600, you only add that one additional data point post WWII

Though a big difference there is that when they did lose in 2000, they got blown out. We were competitive in all our losses sans the OU loss.

They did beat Ohio that year though, so point 2000
