Please stop talking about past coaches! This is a thread about Rhoads getting a long term contract, about Pollard engineering that contract, and the future of Cyclone football (not the past).
I for one love this news. Say what you want to about where ISU ranks with other BCS programs, I have watched every video of Coach Rhoads in the locker room with pride. I've seen plenty of moments that made me proud to be a Cyclone, but I would say that no coach has given me so many in such a short time as Paul has (can I call you Paul? Is that too personal?).
There is no way that you can put a negative spin on this. Jamie Pollard has done a phenomenal job in his time here (I've seen him at the hospital with his son a few times, never approached him because it seemed inappropriate, but you could see the care he had for his son) and Coach Rhoads has done nothing less than exceed expectations.
It's a great day, month, year to be a Cyclone!
What does his son (whom I hope fights through the cancer and has a full recovery) and Paul Rhoads' locker room speeches have to do with their success as a coach and AD? I'm failing to connect the 2....
