I hated Pollard when I was at ISU from 2006-2010. Our performance in the big two "football, basketball" was horrendous. After doing so bad in those two categories, he could only go up.

3 of the 4 worst years for ISU in the Big 12 all-sport standings were on Bruce's watch -- 02-03, 03-04, and 04-05.
His personal social ineptness didn't help him with staff or donors, either.
The guy does have nack for interview and hiring good coaches. He may do a lot of things in his time at ISU but the most impressive will be the coaches he hired.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!!!!!! I've been defending JP and singing his praises for some time, now. The improvements he's made in the quality of the coaching staffs, the facilities, and attendance, are nothing short of amazing, considering the mess Van de Smelly left us in.
As long as JP is at the helm of ISU athletics, I feel we have no where to go but up!!!!!!! Plus, I truly believe he cares for the university and the community.

I'm pretty sure JP replies to all of his own emails. I'm sure it was probably him.
Chizik's coaching abilities are debatable. But he is NOT a leader of young men. If the Chiz is such a good coach how many here would let him coach their son?

Watch players interact, win or lose, with Coach Rhoads and you will understand why so many of us are happy the new contract got done and unbothered that Chizik is someplace else.
I think Pollard should be commended for the job he has done here. He has shepherded scarce resources at ISU better than ANY of his predecessors, all of them. He has strengthened the base of support among those who give to ISU athletics, probably not as much as he would like, but consistently since the day he arrived. He has made good coaching hires. He has represented ISU to the world in a way we can all be proud of.
What more can you want from an athletics director?
I think JP is growing with his time spent on the job, as well he should since he was a rookie a.d. I wasn't crazy about his grandstanding the first few years but he's now taking a much more behind the scenes approach, which is good because we need to have CPR and Fred as the faces of our athletic department. I do believe we are now in a good place for ISU athletics, especially football and basketball, and JP deserves credit (with huge assists from Auburn and Creighton).
Yeah there's been a few times where he let his emotions get the better of him and I think he spoke or reacted before he thought. I agree that he seems to have backed off and been more behind the scenes. I think the less he talks or puts out reactionary press releases, the better
How long does JP's current contract go? Itd be nice to see an extension by Geoffroy before he's officially done.
