Does the "pull & pray" method count as nature's vasectomy?
...If so, count me as a naturalist...
You know what they call people who use the "Natural" method....
PARENTS:wink:

When you get it done, pick the Thursday of the NCAA Tourney or Friday or The Masters if you're a golf fan. If you're gonna be laid up for 2 or 3 days make sure there's some damn good sports on to watch.
Just be sure to keep providing "samples" to the doctor twice a year. My doc said that "it can find its way and reconnect" sometimes. Rare, but it happens.
Do you notice any difference during intercorse at all? Does it hurt during? Did you suddenly start becoming more emotional or take up scrapbooking or croshay?
My wife says I need to get it done but I'm scared as hell. I will have to get a week worths of valium leading up to it.
Can you get a discount if you said Chris Williams sent me?
Don't forget guys there is always abstinence.![]()
I just haven't been able to go down this road yet. I'm 42 and my wife is 37. I want to wait a few more years just case we maybe lose one of our kids, we'd probably try to have another one.
I've read there's a slight chance you increase your prostrate cancer risk doing this surgery, but nothing seems to be that well documented or researched. If you do regular prostate exams which your supposed to do as you get older, that should help take care of that issue.
More importantly I think it's better for your wifes health to go off birth control pills. If it really helps increase your wifes sex drive going off the pill, then that's a real bonus that intrigues me. Can anybody else comment on that?
Like I said, when I hit 45 or 46 it will probably be in the cards for me. I don't want to have kids much later than that in my life.
Just to throw it out there, it seems like you may be a good candidate for cryogenically freezing your sperm. They commonly do it for men undergoing cancer treatment, but it can be done for anyone. That would enable you to still have kids if desired, but to get all of the benefits of a vasectomy.
The pill has some side effects. It controls your hormones, so it can have all kinds of side effects (including decreased/increased sex drive and moodiness). If your wife smokes, it's not recommended to be on the pill over age 35 due to increased risk of blood clots, etc. Here's a link with some basic info:

Looks like about $500 per year to do that Angie....I think we'll keep doing what we are.
Can't help you with DSM docs but I have some very general advice. I asked my family doc, who no longer does surgery, who he would go to if it were him. He said you just asked the important question. One of my office mates could do it and I'm sure it would go fine, but if it were ME I'd go to a urologist because they see this **** EVERY day.Sorry to resurrect this thread, but anyone have any particular doctors to stay away from for this in the Dsm area? Any you recommend? Trying to do a little more due diligence when it comes to something like this!![]()
So what does one of these procedures cost? I'm planning on it, but I was wondering if I should wait until we hit the deductible on the insurance.

I'll do it for $50.
Seriuosly though, most insurers are pretty good in that regard. You just need to check yours.
