Check with your insurer. Some cover it 100% with no deductible. I guess they figured it's cheaper than paying for you to have a baby.

This. A 1000 x this. Insurance companies are all about making money. Pregnancies are expensive so it is a great investment for them to cover it even more than the pill.

It was under 10 mins. Just a co-pay.
my wife doesn't need pills or any other device. She is more than happy with it which makes me happy.
Don't notice any difference at all.

you will have a check up and a zero count with the blessing to proceed.

My cousin got it done and said the key is to get on the schedule right before March Madness....he said his doctor books up quickly then, but it's perfect to get to sit around all day and ice the junk and watch basketball.

Ok, go ahead and laugh. In 1976 my wife was seven months pregnant. We were broke. The Dr. asked what my insurance would pay. When I told him $75, he informed me that was exactly what he charged. I never could tell any difference after the fact. It definitely has taken the worry out of being close. Do make sure and sit on the frozen peas for a couple of days however.

So what does one of these procedures cost? I'm planning on it, but I was wondering if I should wait until we hit the deductible on the insurance.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but anyone have any particular doctors to stay away from for this in the Dsm area? Any you recommend? Trying to do a little more due diligence when it comes to something like this! :)

I waited until my deductable hit, and it was one of the best things I could have done. Many good points about resting, no matter how you feel. And, take advantage of the sympathy!

I would also recommend a urologist. I used Dr. Milleman from the McFarland Clinic in Ames last fall. Great job, and I am free and clear.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, but don't be suprised by the myriad of coloring that goes on for the week or so after this. That was the craziest part--I'm glad someone warned me about it or I would have been freaked out!

Great, simple, easy birth control option that I'd recommend to anyone.

True story ----four of us decided we would get it done. Three of us had it done in about a years time, all three no problems. We assured and reassured him that it wasn't a big deal. Frozen vegetable taking a sample the whole ball of wax. The fourth, reluctant as hw was, waited two years and finally got it done. One of then swelled up the size of a softball, we call him boarnut now.

I had mine to save money on rubbers. I should hit the break-even point sometime in 2427.

This is funny to me for some reason.. Is that what the older generations calls it? Very subtle way of putting it I guess
