You can't shut this thread down, it won't let you. It had become more powerful than anyone on the site, even chris. I expect this thread to change its name to 'skynet' in the very near future....

I'm still waiting for user "Texas A&M Leaving Big 12" to show up and start posting. Then it becomes self-sustaining.

I can see why you are defensive being you are all doom and gloom.

How's that? I haven't really gotten too worked up over this. I think ISU will land in the Big East if all comes tumbling down and that could be a good thing long term.

I have no idea how this thing shakes out, but it's pretty entertaining to read about.

I just find it funny how many posters, read through thousands of posts and then act like they are above the speculation.

I believe that the thread itself already changed it's name, and we are too slow to recognize the change. We will continue to be too slow until it is too late. Maybe it already is.......

I am not above the speculation nor am I on a high horse, but I have seen misinformation and biased opinion spread like a virus. And the problem is it sometimes influences decisions. i.e. perception becomes reality. It can be dangerous.

I posted this on CR yesterday when someone took an opinion article and concluded that the Big 12 is dead:

Here is how I approach this whole thing:

1. Don't believe anything that an A&M source or fan says about the Big 12. Their view is biased.

2. Trust Missouri's administration over their fan base and media. Their fans want out, but their administration is saying EXACTLY the opposite.

3. Don't overreact to any opinion articles predicting the Big 12's demise. Most of those people have an agenda and are biased. The rest are just following the crowd.

4. Learn which message board posters are reliable and put more faith in their posts than others.

All of these has led me to believe the following:
1. A&M is gone, but rest will stay.
2. BYU will be replace them.
3. ND will be AGGRESSIVELY pursued, but I have NO IDEA whether they will join or not. Anyone who says that we have no chance of landing them is just as naive as anyone who says the are definitely coming.
4. Everything else is just opinions.

Sir, are you calling David Ubben naive and quite possibly uninformed?! He works for ESPN, I'm sure you do not know. The gull of some people.

I think if we would go after more big east schools to make them more unstable the better the chance we would have at landing ND... If their olympic sports dont have a stable home will force their hand.... If that means going to 14 instead of 12 to get 3 big east fb schools... Maybe that is why Pitt all the sudden is becoming a player..

Just a thought...

I think a lot of people don't have any freakin idea of what is going on behind closed doors. Myself included. History tells us that we have a snowballs chance in hell of landing Notre Dame, but history can't always be used as a guide. The world is constantly changing including the world of college football.

Add Dennis Dodd to that list.

everybody following CW on twitter? He's retweeting a lot. Nothing earth shattering, but a lot of retweets of others talking about this again.

Please erase from your synapses any possibility of Notre Dame or Arkansas.

Dodd may be right, but more importantly he's a gigantic tool that wants to see superconferences form so he can watch a bunch of "former" BCS programs such as ISU die for entertainment value, while munching on a bowl of popcorn...
