That didn't answer my question.

I've got season tickets for this season, so I'll be there for every game supporting this program just like I've been doing for years. As for next year, who knows? Depends on how this year finishes out.

Sure, it was a great game Saturday, but I was not pleased walking out of that stadium with a loss we shouldn't have had, and one which we might have needed to get to a bowl game.

I'm sorry if I wasn't happy walking out because "at least we hung with Iowa". Nope. I don't have that mindset. Obviously I'm glad we didn't lose 42-3 like last year, but it does count the same as far as trying to become bowl eligible. And besides... who knows what affect a loss like that could have on a pretty young team? What if it somehow, in some way, leads to playing flat next week and results in another loss? Then what? We're supposed to still be happy we hung with the Hawks at least? Nope. It doesn't work that way.

Action items. What are you going to do about it the next time someone calls a game a moral victory? How are you going to protest this moral victory? What are you doing to stop moral victories from happening?

Nothing I told you that.

We have rebuilt our entire OL and DL for the most part. We are young and learning. Campbell and Co. are building a football team. We need to learn to finish games. And make those plays that we missed on. But the potential is there.

We aren't happy with the loss......at all. But the best thing to do after a loss like this is to be pissed off you let this game slip away, and use it as motivation to work that much harder and focus much better so we don't lose again.

The Iowa Game is history. Akron is what should be the focus now. Having a ******** party is the last thing we need. Move on 'dude.

That's not my job.

Are we supposed to keep supporting this team if we go 3-9 again this season, but we had some more "moral victories" than the year before? Every fan will have to make that judgement if it unfortunately came to that, right?

You all realize that fans taking positives out of a game (i.e. moral victories) has absolutely NO ******* IMPACT on the team or the coaches. They aren't happy today.

The bigger question is why all of you continue to be Iowa State fans if you are going to be miserable all of the time.

Then stop supporting the team. Not sure why you still are. Obviously, in the end, you decide that the moral victories we've gotten over the last 100 years are enough.

What in the hell? I don't choose to be miserable and bash the team like you continue to do year after year. You seem to think that every time an Iowa State team loses, it is just because they didn't want to win. And that they didn't want to win because they don't give a **** since the fans will continue to support them.

(I assume your comment refers to Holberg. I'll contend that you accepted a moral victory for his Iowa State coaching career.)

I don't bash the team, I am over the loss. Besides I can't control anything that goes into the team.

And you still bring up Hoiberg. lol

Then, what exactly, were you referring to in your original post?

Really enjoyed the article, put X's and O's into layman's terms really well, makes for a nice read.

I'll echo the sentiment of those who are tired of moral victories. Is it nice to not lose 42-3? Sure. But at the end of the day it's still a L and this team is no closer to bowl eligibility. And I'd say if we make it to 5 wins and miss out on a bowl, this one will sting a bit more. Let's hope they can rebound from a tough loss and not let this one hang over the season. And let's also hope that we don't have any more like this one all season. Very reminiscent of Baylor and Okie light last year.

My 2 cents on the game is that while we didn't get absolutely lynched like last year, our defense looked abysmal. Iowa probably somewhere in the middle of the pack in terms of offenses we'll play this year and they did what they wanted. Whatever we took away, they were able to exploit elsewhere. 500 yards to this Iowa team hurts a bit. Plenty of time for adjustment, and hopefully they do, because the opposing offenses will get better before they get worse.

Still pissed, because for most of the game ISU was sorta doing the stuff they needed to win the game, but I also realize that the program was pretty beat down by the time CMC took over. The way I approached this season was if the Clones handle UNI, I know they don't completely suck, if they hang with Iowa, they are definitely way better than last year. So, besides losing, I guess I am happy with the progress on the team, and think that they will still find a way to win 5 more games.

So what are all of you "I don't accept moral victories!" People doing about it? Not watching next week? Not giving money?

Saying "moral victories are for losers!" on an internet message board is some form of twisted irony isn't it?

I honestly don't care how other people view the game. My problem is with the notion that both teams won. No, they didn't. That is demonstrably false.

I also don't like people telling me how I should feel about it. It was a good, fun game to watch. I'm happy with how a lot of it went. I'm also perfectly entitled to the opinion that the end was an all too familiar deja vu.

There have been so many times over the last 20 years that people thought we were turning the corner but it never happened. I'll watch and I'll cheer forever but I'll believe it when I see it.

If anybody has a problem with that take it up with Todd Blythe.

What does Todd Blythe suggest we, the fans, do about it? I'd like his concrete suggestions.

Love these write ups, but gotta agree that there was nothing 'won' yesterday.

Beating Iowa isn't some sort of super human feat, and that kind of dialogue makes it look like that's the narrative.

Things are improved from a year ago, but the more I think of it they're not a ton better than last October...the improvement from that would be to apply the foot to the throat when it's needed. Still looking for that piece because I think a lot of the other essential elements are there for a relatively nice season.

Former players' input is really never needed for roads to success.

Blythe was good but he was on teams that were the exact definition of fans demanding more.

Look around, the well might dry up. It's happening at other schools with far better tradition than us.

Like these pieces. Informative, insightful, and well written. But it feels like it came from the SID. Less propaganda and more brutal honesty. I don't need what we did wrong sugar coated. I've been an ISU fan long enough to know a turd when I see one. Just give it to me straight. I'll appreciate it more.
