If you so much as think about adding any black and gold to the building, I will be committing arson.

I wouldn't go that far... a gigantic bronze statue of DJK on the other hand...

DJK had alligator arms, says the Hawkeye sitting in the cube next to me. :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

I had to ask someone who he was.

I wouldn't necessarily need to have it designated for Athletics but I would ask the University how much it would cost me to get something named after me on campus. Didn't the Bergstrom's give $10 mil to get their name on the indoor practice facility? I don't need something that big named after me so what would $3-5 mil get me?

I don't need to live too extravagantly so I'd proably use what I had to to take care of myself and family and put whatever I don't need imediately into some investments and let it grow even more.

Is there a Powerball drawing every night? I think I'm going to start wasting some money on this.

I'd give 'em a flat 5 million to start, then 250,000 to 500,000 a year afterwards, depending on how my Cyclone Attire line of clothing was selling.

Wow, I just saw that the $232 Million ticket was sold in Winner, S.D.

How appropriate.

Yeah. No mascot from the Dakotas won the Capital 1 competition. Figures.

bigger stadium blocks more elements (not as much wind across the stands) which makes me think more attendance in poor climates

That's why if I won the money, I would offer to build a new, wider Jacobsen Building on the south end, and tear down the ugly, too-narrow one now on the north end. I would also then offer to kick in some serious dough to bowl-in the north end, since that would block the wind.
Nine times out of ten, the wind on game day comes out of the NW. Bowling in the south end zone does nothing regarding that...

I think it take a bit of convincing to tear down a building already named for a millionaire donor and rebuild it elsewhere. Not that I disagree with your comments or plans, but do you really want a building you paid for to be named after someone else?

Pretty sure that if you drop a couple mill on the Athletic Dept. that they would give you any set of seats you want till death.....heck, they would give you your own box for FB....and Courtside seats at Hilton every year.

Uh....somebody win this sucker....please?

They won't give you anything. After such a donation you would only be entitled to purchase those seats.
