This game should be REALLY fun this year.

All I know is that Iowa beat us last year 17-5. Are we better than last year, maybe. We certainly dont seem worse.

Is Iowa better than last year? Not looking like it right now.

Should be a game played by pretty even teams. Whoever shows up and can make a couple game changing plays will win.

Depends on which Iowa team you're thinking of. The team that struggled through the first 1/2 of the season, or the team that won 6 of it's last 7?

That first score is pretty outlandish...Iowa's d should be able to hold ISU under 31, and there isn't any way Iowa scores less points than NDS did.

Unless Brinson or Weger play and are faster and more elusive than Robinson I can see them scoring less. The NDSU running back was much quicker and more elusive than Robinson IMO. With no threat of a running game, Iowa could struggle to score like always against ISU.

Plus NDSU had a very large OL.

Haha what are you talking about? We are talking about this team. We have only seen them play one game. It's not like they have played 4 games. 2 of which looked great and 2 of which looked awful.

24-21, 21-17...something like that sounds about right.

Iowa usually always scores less points against us than any other team

Remember, the odds are not based on what the "experts" think the outcome will be. Rather, the odds are based how the "experts" think people will bet. Iowa fans bet with the hearts and not their heads. They have an inflated perception of their team, while ISU fans are more realistic. That's why Iowa traditionally doesn't do well against the spread.

Bottom line, I'd take this bet.

Might want to retract that comment.

Iowa is 106-90 against the spread since 1992. They are also 14-10 against the spread the last 3 seasons.

ISU is 88-90 since '92. 11-11 the last 3.

Maybe I'm not looking at your numbers correctly but since 1992, iowa's only played what ~195 games...? 13 games a season for 15 seasons (that'd be if they had a bowl game each year).... and you have them at a record that would mean they played 196 games...:wideeyed: so are you saying they've played a spread offense every game for the last 15 seasons?

I don't see anywhere in that post where he mentions point spreads.... it looks to me like he's talking about the hawks record.
I don't see anywhere where it mentions "spread offense." The post is clearly about the point spread.

Um. This thread is about the point spread. Those are Iowa's and ISU's records against the point spreads. I was pointing out to a poster that he/she was wrong in stating that Iowa traditionally does poorly against the point spread. The point spread.

Hopefully we're on the same page now. :skeptical:
