Spoon bread

1 can of creamed corn
1 can of regular corn
Corn bread mix
2 eggs
8 oz. sour cream
1 stick butter

Melt the butter in the microwave, and then mix everything together in a big mixing bowl. Pour it into an 8x11 baking pan (make sure you spray it first), and then bake it @350 for 40-45 minutes. When you can poke it with a knife and the have the knife come out clean, she's done.

My friends and I used to do the 40 people Thanksgiving thing a week or so before Turkey Day in college. It was a blast getting everyone together, everyone brought something different.

I always brought a huge Gatorade container of home made (strong) sangria along. That was always a great side dish!

Spinach Quiche has been a Thanksgiving staple at my house for years.

1 frozen pie crust
1 package of frozen, chopped spinach, thawed
1 package of cream cheese, softened
4 eggs
1 cup shredded cheddar cheeze.

Combine spinach, eggs and cream cheese in a bowl, mix well. pour into pie crust.

bake in 350 degree oven for 20-30 min, or until egg mixture is well set and firm. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese on top and place back in oven until melted.

Excellent dish, especially if you have kids that don't like spinach. Definitely try it.

^This is the correct answer^

I look forward to this for every holiday.
Sadly, as the older generations in my family die off, I'm the only one left who eats it.
Maybe the lutefisk is what's killing us off...
Nah, cod soaked in lye can't be bad for you.

I'm a big fan of "non-traditional" meats on thanksgiving. At my dad's we've started eating marinated pork loin for Thanksgiving. One year we all realized that none of us was that wild about turkey, so we said to hell with it, and made food we liked.

The other gatherings we have (my mom, my gfs family) all do the traditional turkey and stuffing dinner. Harvest Moon (Blue Moon's pumpkin ale) has helped me wash down some turkey and mashed potatoes in the past. However, I've discovered this fall that O'Fallon pumpkin is much better. I'll be using that.

Stopped by a tailgate this past saturday at JTS where they were serving up some excellent deep fried turkey. Quite possibly the best turkey I've ever had. Appeared to be some sort of spice rub under the skin. Crispy on the outside, juicy goodness on the inside.
