Hopefully they'll take from battlestar galactica, which had that lesson learned, not about dinosaurs, but about scifi\spaceships and such: have a good story with good characters and character development, that just happens to take place in an extraordinary setting, and dont make the show about that setting.

I like sci-fi more along the lines of Farscape and Firefly but thatwon’t fly in this timeslot on network TV (too quirky for mass appeal). I think this is going to go the sci-fi opera meets Lost route. I’ll keep watching unless it turns into John Boy Walton and the family meets dino.

It was a travesty what they did to Firefly. That had potential.

Okay...so finally watching premiere tonight. Since there is dinosaurs are there that means this whole re-humanizing of earth can only end in them getting killed when the meteor hits.

Two things, they mention it is an alternate timeline, so maybe there's no meteor this time around. Also, even if they are in the same timeline, the meteor won't happen for another 20 million years or so.

My method requires less thought. Thinking after hours makes my brain hurt! :wideeyed:

I do like this about you identifying the alternate timeline, it might explain the bullet proof dinos!

Alternate timeline, the meteor might not hit!

Also, it may be another 2 million years before the meteor hits and assuming they can rebuild humanity successfully, I'm sure they'd figure out a way to stop the asteroid.

Anybody watch it tonight? Not as good as the first.

To be fair, the pilot had 2 hours to develop something. This one wasnt bad. I think more shows should do what shows like Justified, Warehouse 13, etc are doing. Have one major plot per season and resolve it at the end. It seems to work out great and I hope this show does that. Having a continuing mystery through out the series just doesnt work anymore with shows getting canceled left and right.

I'll go against the grain, I like scifi but I find this show stupid. I wanted to like it, but from the characters to the dinos I think its poor. Maybe it was too much hype.

Agree with that. But....

this seems to be the case for me as well. Other than that dude that was in Avatar, this show has very little to offer in terms of good actors. The plot last night was alright, but the entire thing focused on saving themselves from horribly computorized flying dinos.

It'd be cool if they somehow focused the series less on the technology and bad graphics, to more of a Lost-like mystery, with the dinos and technology playing a part, instead of being the main focus.

Im sure they will flush out the sixers plot more. The dinos will cost too much to make every episode. Hard to say what will happen.

Looks like they get distracted from plot development tonight Tonight’s episode appears to be a recycled variant of the good old sci-fi virus makes people grow old/regress to primitives/change species/forget who they are etc. Quick, we need to find a cure or antidote!!!! How many times has that been reworked on all of the Star Trek and Stargate series? I think Warehouse 13 and Eureka have both used it in the last year.

Anyone still watching? I've watched on and off but caught the most recent episode. It's getting pretty lame.
I haven't seen the most recent episode yet but have found my interest waning. They have tried to create a serial but also keep it episodic. All that seems to do is take away from the story arc as a whole which makes it drag along.
