Let me dumb it down for you then, on kenpom.com the gap between the SOS rating of #1 (Kansas) and #2 (Boston College) is 0.0619. That is slightly larger than the gap between the #2 team and the #21 team. Does that help you understand that #1 to #2 isn't simply the same as #2 to #3, etc...?
2014 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings
Let's try a different rating.
BPI has ISU ahead of KU. And since it is the one that uses the most factors, then clearly ISU is close to KU in SOS.
Here are some things for you to consider:
1. This is an ISU board.
2. We don't care about your KU opinions. See #1.
3. If they thread did not mention KU before, then there is no reason to add KU to the conversation. See #2.
4. No one on here is saying ISU's SOS is better than KU.
5. ISU has had one of the toughest schedules in the country. In fact, Top 5 in pretty much every rating.
6. The number 21 SOS still has one of the 6% toughest schedules in the country. You act like their SOS is horrible.
7. If you are saying that the gap between KU and #2 is the same as #2 and a team that has had one of the 6% toughest schedules, and using that a "proof" that KU's schedule has not been close to them, then I consider that a biased opinion. And see #2 about your opinion.
8. KU Sucks.
