I think the whole 8th official vote makes sense. An 8th official was proposed in order to speed up play, which would help the uptempo/more athletic offenses like Baylor, Tech, OSU, TCU, Texas, WV, and OU. By the same token, it would negatively impact more time of possession teams like ISU, KU, and KSU.
KSU didn't care because Snyder has a good plan and has been able to consistently slow down these type of offenses. KU doesn't say **** in fear of repercussions by the southern schools ($). Bowlsby probably expected ISU to do just like KU and just vote for it and kept our mouths shut.
I'm sure there was probably a heated discussion, as I'm sure they were all ****** that we would be against it. Why should we support something that does not help us at all and actually helps the other schools pile up more points against us? People think this is a stupid reason to claim the bias, but I'm sure some of the bullies in the conference were ****** that we challenged them and we didn't just go with their plan, like KU and KSU.
