Way up there
who are so upset with this loss have been happier if we had made the XP and then lost in OT? That kick wouldn't have won the game for us, we still would have had more work to do.

By making the XP, at least ISU would have garnered additional opportunity to win by completing a basic routine football play, which would have provided me some additional comfort...

We would have won in overtime due to the fact that we had all the momentum...see the UNLV game from last year. :jimlad:

That's a big assumption, and a pretty negative one.

Nothing is ever good enough for a lot of the people on here. Even in a victory, this message board is full of naysayers who will nitpick the team apart. Its a wonder that people still enjoy coming here.

I hate the loss just as much as the next guy, but guess what...the sun did rise this morning, at least I think it did. Life will go on. We have a new coach and I personally think that things will get better. I personally think that if we would've made the kick and lost in OT, things would've been even worse.

What the hell?

Yes, I would have love for us to make the kick and lose in OT. It would have made me completely forget about the 2 back-to-back fumbles in the 2nd half, the missed tackles and poor execution in the passing game.

I think it would've been a tad less demoralizing...probably wouldn't be any happier though.

Hypothetical. And past tense. No use worrying about it.

One positive of losing on the extra point is that people can't really blame CPR for the loss as much.
If ISU had lost in OT, there would have been more room to blame play calling and coaching.

I'd be much happier losing in OT. It's what makes me an ISU fan.

:jimlad:

OT, extra point, by 70. It all sucks.

I'd rather lose the way we did to be honest. Like ripping a band aid off. OT would have had too many other things to ponder if we lost.

OT games in college football are exciting and like most people, I enjoy exciting games. I'd rather see any game end in OT than a blocked PAT. It doesn't matter who's playing.

I think not making that 1st down and ending it that way would have been easier. There was a lot of luck in those back to back throws so I thought it was destiny to win it in OT. Getting the extra point blocked didn't even occur to me.
