So, I walk into Bramlage last night 1.5 hours before the game ...

Anybody else worried if ISU doesnt get Des Moines that they will play on that Thursday? Did they have TV's setup anywhere around the arena last time? I would rather take a break to watch our game than stick around for Michigan vs East Tennessee State or LSU vs St Johns.

Yeah, several said Ku would win the game. So, I guess they were invested in a different sort of way. Still, have you ever seen fans of another school in Hilton wearing their colors to a game in which their team wasn't a contestant?
And I have for years on end seen OU fans do that stupid "horns down" hand sign at Jack Trice when there wasn't a Longhorn within 500 miles. That's just as dumb.

Last time they had big screens scattered around the concourse that played our game. They also showed part of it on the jumbotron, either during halftime or after the local game ended (I don't remember which).

I don't see anything wrong with folks wearing a different team's shirt to another conference game like that. It's a conversation starter IMO and as long as you aren't being a jackwagon about it I think it's fine.

It's a little different to wear ISU gear to a random Iowa vs Rutgers game. For some reason it feels dooshier when it's your in-state rival and they aren't in your conference.

Yes. Frequently. ToE dbags do it all the time. I've seen KU as well. And as a matter of fact, I know a guy getting his masters at ISU who got his undergrad from KState and will sport KState stuff in Hilton.
ToE crap everywhere...frequently at ISU football games not involving little brother out East. The only consolation is that my daughter makes retching sounds whenever she sees such crap at our games...does my heart proud!

Lol, I hope she isn't discrete about it either. Good work, dad, you've raised her well!

That happened last time Des Moines hosted. My buddy and I hung back on Court Ave and skipped the Uconn/Colorado game to watch Iowa State play. After the Iowa State game we walked up to the Well and watched the Kansas game. We tried selling our session 1 tickets but you couldn't give the tickets away.

I wear ISU stuff to games that Iowa and ISU aren't in.
I've been to games at Wisconsin, Minnesota, Colorado, and so on.

I remain neutral and don't really cheer, just to watch. When Indiana played Kentucky at Wells Fargo, I was smack dab in the middle of their fan bases. Quite interesting to hear them bicker back and forth.

aTm fans used to attend the K-State/UT game and cheer for the Wildcats. It happened on more than one occasion. Maybe the ISU folks were there to show support against a recognized villain, Ku.

I'm not surprised, but don't care for it.

It’s always funny seeing the Hawk fans get all offended when they get called out on it.

“What the heck, I’m just minding my own business”

Cut the BS. You knew exactly what you were doing when you chose to wear that

I can't fault them for wearing their gear. I do it too. If I'm not invested in the game or the teams, I'm wearing Cyclone gear. Because reasons.

Yeah, literally bringing a Hawk shirt to Hawaii to try and troll is pathetic.
ISU plays in the Bahamas next year, and I'm sure we'll see it again.

I wish more of our fans would say something about it.

Don’t try to fight them or anything like that. But make it uncomfortable

Yes, I have seen Iowa fans attend games in Hilton when they weren't involved. I see it a lot in MLB and the NFL, too. I personally wouldn't do it, but I assume that some people are sports fans and take the opportunity to represent their team, regardless of who's playing. If the people are respectful, I guess I don't really care.

I've definitely done it. If it's two pro teams, I tend to wear an Iowa St hat. If it's two college teams, I tend to wear a Twins or Vikings hat. Seems better than wearing a hat from another team in the same league and I don't have many non-sports hats.

When I see a troll like that, I think how much money was wasted on his ticket. He could have sold the ticket for a few hundred dollars, but didn't.
