This is BC. Another 8.5" west of Ottumwa. And a pretty heavy wet snow. I am too old for this brushing off cars and shoveling out a big driveway. Our third storm of 8" plus this year. Maybe the Des Moines media can stop talking about snow. It is time for a garage one way or another.

Why would you live in Iowa with no garage. Don’t you live off the grid? Build one.

If someone wants to send me $15,000 or so i'd love to build one. Its more likely we will sell and upgrade though as this is just a little too "quiet".

Meh, that is way too cheap. If you are going to do it, do it right. I've had the Amish price a pole building but we'd have to have quite a bit of site work to level a place and then add the concrete. Still a pole building is by far the best price/reward.

live in Ankeny most of my life and always snows above hwy30. move to NE Iowa above hwy 20 and have had maybe at most 4" total of snowfall so far this year, that melts the next day.

I'm 10 minutes from the MN border and we have nothing for snow, other than wooded north facing slopes.

I assume a station or two didn't report in to produce this graphic (gap at Newton and the one on the Missouri border).

I also thought they were getting 10-12 inches of snow in Iowa just to the south of the Council Bluffs area? Is that not true?

Yea that isnt accurate around Appanoose Ci. I saw WHO report Udell with 14" and that graphic is like 3".

I would say we received 9-11 down here in Bloomfield, glad I bought a snow blower a couple of months ago. The first snow we got in December, it took me a good three hours to dig out the drive and sidewalk. Yesterday I got through the whole thing in an hour, today spent another 45 minutes to get what we received after I bladed yesterday.

More snow coming next Friday?

Yes, there’s a system predicted to take similar path with good moisture to drop snow. Worse, is that this system will have wind and bitter cold. If it holds, would be worse conditions due to those factors. But, again, no real predictions can be trusted until about Thursday night or Friday morning.

Is it legal for guy to push snow with a pickup out of someone's driveway and across the street. then just plows it down the street and across my driveway that I had just cleaned out? The city snowplow had come by about 3 hours earlier in the day. I was a little pissed by it. I think I will be talking to by neighbors about it.

How long would it take you to shovel?
