Should you always be truthful?

"Baby, it's you. Not what you look like. not what you weigh. It's you, and you do it for me". Memorize those words, I've been married for 27+ years.

And by the way, I'm not the "prize" I used to be, which I remind her of often. It makes those questions less and less frequent and makes her much more comfortable. And by the way, she's still a babe and she still does it for me. Stretch marks and all

I assume you can't bring yourself to say "Yes, you are fat."?

Just be careful. My wife once asked me "Do these pants make my butt look big?" I reponded "No, your butt makes your butt look big." That was the wrong answer.

My wife is 5' 3", weighs less than 110lbs, has run five marathons, consistently runs 30+ miles per week and works out. I WISH I had her energy and drive, yet she still asks me those questions.

And the truth is, she does what she does for herself, but she still worries about what I think about her, wrinkles, stretch marks and all. And she still does it for me.

When you're old enough, you'll understand it's not about the moment, it's about the journey.

When my wife asks me I tell her she would look good in a potato sack, which is true.

If telling her the truth is reminding her you burned your fanny on the ceiling light during the monthly wrestling match...........Well, then divert the question.....

This is a no win questions when you get down to the brass tacks.

My wife very rarely asks it and it really doesn't matter much to me(of course my wife is nearly the same size she was when I met her). We've both probably gained about the same amount proportionally.

I like your answer and I use a variation of it with my spouse.

Very good advice and you younger guys pay attention!

I can be honest with my wife and she can be honest with me - we kinda just work like that.

If you can't handle honesty, don't interact with me. :)

How should you answer?

Carefully!

Yes tell the truth because if nothing else it is the easiest thing to remember. That aside if you are lying both you and her will no it and it won't do good things long term. So tell her the truth, just don't be a jerk about it.

You're a young man. Thise questions get much more difficult as you age. My wife and I are both 49. I don't know how I'll answer those questions when I'm 65. but I hope in the same way as I do now.
