I honestly believe it's down to Culver and Lawson. But maybe Brown can sneak in there if KSU wins outright. Otherwise he's out. I don't think that Shayock has a shot, although he's a shoe in for first team all-conference.

Agree. Shayok's only shot was if ISU got maybe a share of the crown. Same with Brown, he can't win unless KSU wins at least a share. Lawson is probably the only player that still might win even if KU doesn't get a share.

Beard will likely get COY if Tech shares in title, but not sure about Culver.

If KU gets a share, it will be disgusting to hear all the support Self will get for coaching up his team against all their adversity. When the truth is that he still has more highly rated players than other teams.

Jarrett Culver is going to be so good at the next level, he's my favorite player in the league not in cardinal and gold by a long shot. Won't win the POTY, however. I think it's a race between Lawson, Shayock, and Brown

First, here is what Self had to say about the award when asked an unrelated question about K-State guard Barry Brown by voice of the Jayhawks Brian Hanni on Tuesday evening:

"Barry Brown, if they win the league he should be player of the year in the league," Self said on the show. "If we win the league Dedric should be player of the year. If Iowa State wins the league, [Marial] Shayok should be player of the year. If Tech wins the league, [Jarrett] Culvershould be player of the year."

I don’t know. I think Culver is more likely than Brown.

Brown kinda stepped on his junk in the KU game last week.
tbh didn't watch/pay attention to that game. Only saw the outcome. So if that's the case idk. Only way Culver wins is if they win the league, imo. Brown is in there because of where KSU is at. It's why I don't think Shayok has a realistic shot at it any more.

If Drew isn't COY then they are wrong. Beard has done a great job but the fact that Drew has this team in the tournament is nothing short of amazing.

Remember when this thread was about two ISU basketball players?
