Guys, it’s just a football game. I at least hope that those of you that actually get angry about stuff like this are in your 20s and have yet to learn that there are so many more important things. Also, why do people hate weddings? As long as it’s not a Catholic wedding that’s like 19 hours long, I love going to weddings (more so the reception, but it’s a package deal).

You either like going to weddings or you don’t. You seem conflicted.

Why? Why must people do this?
The Iowa game and Baylor game are two recent examples of how these games should not be major events in your life unless you live to toy with mental illness of which you have little control.

Game is literally going on a side tv while the bride and groom do the first dance.

I have one tomorrow too and its infuriating. Wedding is at 4:30, going to find a place after the ceremony to watch then show up to the reception afterwards. Haven't missed a game since 2008 and I'm not about to let some wedding change that
Ooh, congrats! I got a perfect attendance certificate in 2nd grade. Its on my resume.

Many of my closest group of friends have mid-late August wedding anniversaries (including myself); that was not a coincidence.

My wife’s cousin is having her wedding reception next week during the bye week so they timed it perfectly.

But my cousins are marrying each other the same day, so we have to miss that one.
Your cousins are marrying each other? Is it a secret ceremony?

There are plenty of weekends out there that are wide open to not do a fall wedding. My plans for the fall the next 30+ years are known to everyone who knows me. The same can be said for a lot of people in the state.

Go ahead and have your fall wedding if you want just don’t get mad if I don’t come. It’s the same concept with destination weddings. Ultimately you do what makes you happy but realize what it asks of your guests.

Besides I’ve never been to a wedding that didn’t suck.

My memory isn't what it used to be, so I looked up how the Clones did on 10/8/05, which was the day I got married.

If you would have attended my wedding in Savannah, GA, you would have missed ISU losing at home to Baylor. Doesn't sound like a big deal? Well, you would have missed the moment in history where Baylor won their first Big 12 road game in the 10 years since the conference formed.

The wedding was a 5 minute, non-denominational ceremony during the cocktail hour before dinner. The party went all night and we had to change our honeymoon plans because we were so hungover the next day. Out of the 75% ISU graduate crowd in attendance, I don't recall anyone ever mentioning the game that day or ever since.

The 05 season ended with a loss to KU in Lawrence and a loss to TCU in the Houston Bowl. It's just a game guys.
