Your cousins are marrying each other? Is it a secret ceremony?
Yes. My cousins are marrying each other. It is not secret. They are not related to each other. One is my cousin on my dad’s side. The other is my cousin on my mom’s side. I just like to see people’s reaction when I tell them my cousins are getting married.

My friend likes to tell people his parents met at a family reunion. His dad showed up with his mom's cousin.

Our son plays football for Grandview so we probably will be going to all his games next year. Home and away. We’ve not missed a home ISU game in 15 years. Family support comes first. We can always go to ISU games, just that we won’t always see our son play football. Pretty easy choice here.

My aunt and her cousin married a pair of brothers. There is nothing wrong with it and it was more common back then, but it always seems a little strange when the kids are related to each other through both sides of their family.

Not exactly sure.
My memory isn't what it used to be, so I looked up how the Clones did on 10/8/05, which was the day I got married.

If you would have attended my wedding in Savannah, GA, you would have missed ISU losing at home to Baylor. Doesn't sound like a big deal? Well, you would have missed the moment in history where Baylor won their first Big 12 road game in the 10 years since the conference formed.

The wedding was a 5 minute, non-denominational ceremony during the cocktail hour before dinner. The party went all night and we had to change our honeymoon plans because we were so hungover the next day. Out of the 75% ISU graduate crowd in attendance, I don't recall anyone ever mentioning the game that day or ever since.

The 05 season ended with a loss to KU in Lawrence and a loss to TCU in the Houston Bowl. It's just a game guys.
That Baylor game was the first game I took my now ISU senior son to. At least he enjoyed the experience since the game blew.

My wife’s town is well known for all the second cousins that are married. Explains why many of the locals are rather slow witted.

Lucky in the fact I got my fiancée to agree to a early December wedding just for that reason.. plus it's cheaper off "peak"

A young lady who we call one of our "bonus daughters" took me to dinner with her fiance and was so proud of herself when she told me "we aren't getting married during the ISU football season." They are getting married on December 4th!

My younger days I may have thought similar to this...

Then I had a kid and realized it's just a game. And have good friends who matter more than a game.

Maybe the problem is some of you are just selfish ass holes?

The first thing my daughter did when she and her fiancee planned their wedding date a few years ago was consult with the Cyclone football schedule. The father-daughter relationship does not get more special than that!
