Whats the policy on rushing the field? Cause I know if we beat Nebraska by 40 I wont be the only one that wants to drave the field goal post threw town. Anybody know actually how this ran from cop stand points. I suppose if theres enough people they have to.

I remember when I was a freshman in 1995 and we rushed the field every game we won - granted it was only 3 games, but it was a really fun year for ISU football. It was after that year that they replaced the goal posts with the 'unbreakable' ones. Good Times.

From what I've seen, its okay by the cops standpoint as long as you're not the first one. They always seem to get the first one and give up after that. Unfortuatly, the first one usually is leaning over the wall and gets pushed over from behind. I don't know what they do about fining or if they let them go after its all done.

Now by the fans perspective, you should only rush the field in big games. This year, only Nebraska or Tech would be appropriate at home. I would however find it really funny to get enough people to rush the field at Kinnick when we win there. If their arrest and release record over there with the athletics team are any indication I'd doubt you'd get in any trouble (unless you have some herbacide).

last time we beat nebraska at home i rushed the field and they knew we were going to and cleared the band out who was in front of the student section then and nebraska knew we were so they kept stopping the clock and sh!t. cops just kept us off the field till game was over. also rushed the field when we beat iowa at kinnick when seneca led us to the great comback. it was awesome! i got half my head and my arm with my watch in the paper right behind the cy-hawk trophy in two different pictures. it was one of the best feeling in my life!

Perhaps someone can come up with some sort of standards…titled...

Rushing the field - Friends don't let friends rush without merit

Hand it out before games, post it on websites such as this one, etc.

Fans rushing the field against the advice of Rushing the field - Friends don't let friends rush without merit would be shot in the foot by a sniper from atop the press box.

Harsh? Maybe.

But that'll sure stop unwarranted rushing of the field!

Hell yes, I am there. For the price of that ticket and another year of overblown Hawk dreams I will be flying when we squash those dreams!!!

What message does it send if we do NOT rush the field when beating Nebraska. "Business as usual". I like that message.

Rushing the field says " OMG I can't believe we just won that game because we weren't supposed to". Keep that in mind when deciding to rush the field. Are we not supposed to beat Nebraska at JT this year? We might be underdogs, but I would say that the expectation of a win is in the mind of all cyclone fans.

I agree, we should act like we belong.

Beating OK in norman is a whole different deal.

It's always been a dream of mine to rush the field. I just about did last year at the Iowa game, but my step-brother stopped me (He's an Iowa fan....).

Rushing the field against Nebraska will be a must after we win. That will be for the Big 12 North. Maybe we can hook a pickup to the goal posts and pull one end down since the end zone is just a hill.

I'd love to see the Gophers rush the field at Kinnick and tear their goalposts down after Hawk fans did the same in the MetroDome a few years back. Pretty classless to rush the field when you're the visiting team if you ask me.

I agree with others that we've reached a point where rushing the field is a bit silly unless the circumstances CLEARLY warrant. Winning the conference (but not the division), beating a top 10 team, etc etc.
