Last night I am glad the plays went fast without a huddle. In previous years, the 10 second look back to the side line was enough to freak one out.

I am in favor of a more Pro-Style offense. Like what Stanford or Wisconsin runs. It drives me insane to see us in the shotgun from the 1 yard line. Our running plays are so slow to develop it is painful, and the chance for a negative play is just too great. One missed assignment and a read-draw becomes a 6 yard loss. Herman better come up with something quick, or he needs to be replaced.

Can anyone provide any info on KO's injury? I didn't get to see the game, and all I have heard is that he didn't finish the game. Any idea on his chances of playing next week? Thanks.

I do like White, and it would have been nice to see Hollis with some carries, but unfortunately he was suspended.
Hollis was listed on the participation report.

then stop trying to run him into 3 defenders. blame should be on oc.
The offensive center? 'Cause he calls the blocking schemes, or just because he was getting beat? :jimlad:

Sprained ankle, should be back.

Yeah.... Herman and Bleil need to take the blame for Saturday night IMO. Herman has done NOTHING since he's been here.... NOTHING.

We have this super fancy "jet tempo" offense that gets us 3 and outs faster than anyone else in the nation... yippeee!

I still don't understand the lack of creative playcalling either? Still no misdirection whatsover. UNI was just pinning their ears back and going after us. Never once did we even try to keep them honest with a mis-direction counter, or reverse, etc. We just continued to try to run right into their pursuit.

And it just takes us FOREVER to get the ball into the hands of the RBs. Jantz gets the snap, and then he has to make these reads on the DE's, etc, and then has to decide whether to give it to the RB or keep it. It just takes forever. And when our RB does get the hand off, he's usually standing still basically and has no momentum even going forward. It's just frustrating to watch.

Herman needs to show something in these last 11 games or he needs to go IMO. Quit jacking around and play football. And if you're trying to "spread" the defense out and make them cover the entire field, as Herman always says, then why aren't you doing that? Why are we always running right into their pursuit and never keeping them honest? Why are all of our WR's always covered and never open like UNI's were? I mean c'mon. We played against an FCS team, and our starting RB had 27 yds! NO EXCUSE for that.

I think they played conservative. You dont show all your secrets against UNI. You save your best stuff for bigger games.

Will this offense work better in the B1G, Big 12, MWC, or the BE?

I just HATE that excuse. EVERY game is a big game. If we lost to UNI Saturday, it would have been nearly impossible for us to even dream of getting to 6 wins. It's still a longshot IMO, but if you can't beat the easiest team on your schedule, you're in big trouble.

I'm sure we would all have felt great losing to UNI Saturday knowing that we used 10% of our playbook, right? Seriously. Herman needs to go if that's his line of thinking.

I'd like to see James White get more carries. I like SJ a lot too, I just think he's a solid player who is showing he deserves to get on the field consistently.
