For the purpose of the intention of the OP and the fact this thread is better than our own trolling threads. Here is the updated record of our Opponents

Colorado 8-1 schedule looks fair wins @Colo State, @Auburn, BYU

Chicago State 3-7 nuff said

Chattanooga 7-2 schedule looks poor after non-conf wins @Georgia, Illinois (down players), @Dayton

Virginia Tech 6-3 schedule looks poor until conference. wins UAB, @Radford

Illinois 6-5 record is somewhat an anomaly as they were missing players. Decent schedule almost knocked off Providence. If they improve they could maybe reach bubble status but that may be too much.

NDSU 6-3 poor schedule but may rack up wins. unlikely to be better than top 100 win

Buffalo 5-5 not many chances to get big wins on their schedule but a tough team that could keep winning

Iowa 7-3 good schedule. Can take advantage of weak middle of the conference

Chattanooga won at Dayton today, which is a quality victory and Colorado won as well. RPI should get a boost. Chatt. could turn out to be like Ga. State last year. Decent team that could make a run in March. They have taken 3 out of 4 away wins already vs. big conference teams, with the only loss being to ISU.

Glad the Big XII got some great wins this week. Really looking good for our conferences' RPI. Couple more big noncon games to go in December, then the SEC v. Big XII challenge.

I'd say about late January the RPI starts being quite accurate as to each team's ranking.
Not really because of lopsided conferences. It's possible that some teams won't play their top conference counterparts until Feb.

RPI makes a ton more sense for resume evaluation than the most popular computer ranking fans like to reference, that one gives virtually no weight to actually winning.

So that's why Iowa moved up 7 spots after losing to us?

Chattanooga lost to Louisiana-Monroe by 10 last week.

Moving up to #25 for losing to a good ISU makes more sense than actually jumping ahead of ISU for losing to them at 7-3 like happened with KenPom yesterday.

Kenpom moved Iowa up and Dayton down for the tournament Dayton outplayed them in. They win huge and lose close which is the Kenpom gold formula...but in the real world an L is an L and a W is a W. Solid gambling tool, absolutely horrible college basketball ranking metric.

It takes time, but by mid season RPI is a drastically better resume evaluator than Kenpom (and lets not pretend college basketball isn't all about ranking resumes for seeding and selection because it is).

RPI means nothing right now, but is very important for tournament selection.

Polls means very little for tournament selection, but is very important during the season for perception and recognition. So the people saying the polls don't mean anything, you are right about it for the tournament, but wrong that it doesn't mean anything overall.

The ISU men did move up to the #1 spot in the RPI today. Even with a big win today they could go down if they consider Kentucky, Maryland and Oklahoma's two wins this week greater than a hopeful 3 wins this week for ISU if they consider those wins more impressive.

If the BIG 12 player/players of the week aren't named Niang, Morris and McKay it will be a travesty. I wouldn't even want to have to choose among those three players. I checked out the other BIG 12 teams this week and the only other competition I could see might be Oklahoma's Hield who had 30 in a game yesterday with a high % of threes but few rebounds or assists. I don't remember what his stat line was for the other game but our Big 3's stat lines were more impressive IMO.

Kenpom isn't a resume evaluator and has never claim to be.
