Nice find on the article, Prohm is really hitting the right marks out of the gate. The take away quote from CSP that got me excited.

"Prohm: I watched (ISU) quite a bit because I tried to steal things here and there... There may be different terminologies and stuff like that, but the core will be the same in terms of the offensive packages that we put in. We're going to score a lot of points, we're going to play fast, and we're going to play the game the right way. I think that transition will be pretty good."

"The thing that I have to do being the newest coach in the league is just to prepare each and every day and be very detail oriented...."

Like reminding them not to look at the other team's jersey.

If (I know, a big if) we win every game we are favored in, it will be our best season in the history of the program.

The more I learn about Coach Prohm the more I realize why JP hired him. He's basically a spin-off of Fred, just much less dreamy.

Less dreamy but he sure is saying all the right things. Love every single thing I've heard him say since he was hired.

How are we going to play tough defense without looking at the other team's jersey?

An even better Monte? Yes please! He'll win the Cousy if he is even better than last year. It was a joke he wasn't a finalist this year.

Prohm: Monte's been terrific. That was one of the main things I wanted to do during my first week in Ames --- get a relationship established with him. I had both Cameron Payne and Isaiah Canaan reach out to Monte so that he could ask them questions about how I coach and my demeanor and how we play. I think Monte changes pace really well. I think he's got a great handle and his vision is terrific. I think he's going to be a really good player which he already is, but I think we can even get him to be a little bit better. I'm excited to get to work with him as soon as possible and have him be the point guard of our team.

Posted this on the Assistant Coach Thread, but thought I could throw it on here too. Good Listen.

Has anyone else heard the Interview with Andy Katz and Seth Greenberg with Bill Self and Steve Prohm? I thought it was a great interview for CSP, he talks about bringing on Small and how he is a great recruiter of the southeastern states. He stated that Small was the one who recruited Cameron Payne and others. Also, which to me was a very big plus for the team in general and for me as a fan was he was adament about bringing on an Assistant that can truly recruit with the best in the Midwest. When listenting to him talk everything that he was saying pointed directly to the Assistant that Otz is. I may be overstepping here but the interview gave me some hope that he is trying hard to keep otz on his staff.

Here is the link to the interview: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=13083621 (Prohm section starts at 21 minutes)
