Root against the other teams at the top, right?

Walk before you can run people. Priority number one should be to win the big 12 championship game. (something we’ve never done as a program in football). Anything after that …..CFP etc is gravy. So yes, I’m rooting for the others at the top to lose and pray we keep winning. The sooner we clinch a spot in the game the better.

The auto bid stuff will work itself out. Yes it’s an unfair system. Yes, it would be nice for the big 12 to get a second bid which is possible, but I wouldn’t hold my breath and bank on it. The money and power has spoken and the cards have been stacked. You just have to wait for it to implode upon itself. Win the Big 12 problem solved

All's that matters is ISU keeps winning. Better that KSU and BYU only lose to ISU the rest of the season. Would it hurt my feelings that KSU loses to someone else, no not really. To guarantee a spot in the playoffs we need to be perfect. Both ISU and BYU perfect in the championship game would almost definitely lead to 2 Big 12 teams in. Lose a game like last night, it's just a really good season.

Most bowl projections I have seen have both BYU and ISU in, one as conf champ and one as at large.

Obviously want us to win out. We want BYU to win out, KSU to win until they reach us (then we beat them). That would give us a top-25 win going into conf champ game and a top-10 matchup in the B12 championship. Also would like to see CU lose to make our path to the champ game easier.

It is not out of the realm of possibility we secure an at-large, but we’d need thing to fall our way

We control our own destiny here and have all winnable games left.

Agree with others that we need to get into the championship game first. I would like to see KSU take another loss to give us a one game buffer but their schedule sets up very favorably for them. Same with Colorado.

I think an at large bid is a possibility (although uphill climb) if ISU and BYU both run the table.

If we drop a game before then and somehow manage to get in then we still have a chance by winning the championship game.

Some of you guys are acting like it's still a 4-team CFP. A B12 team that goes 11-1 or 11-2 will almost certainly get an at-large. Look how high K-State (16) is currently rated with 1-loss.
Let's say ISU goes 11-1 with the only loss to K-State. And K-State plays BYU in the championship game. You'd have to think that an 11-0 ISU would be ranked # 3 or 4 in the rankings going into the K- State game. There's almost no way ISU would drop all the way out. I think it would take a blow out loss combined with a bid stealer like Pitt or Indiana winning their CCG.

I want what we can control and that’s winning the Big 12 title. In order to do that, we need to be in the game whether by winning enough or getting some help too. So BYU, K State, Cincinnati and Colorado can all lose this weekend and I would be happy as hell.

Nope. No way they let ISU in the CFP if we don't go to the Big 12 championship game. Won't happen. They are already trying to make Alabama's loss to Vandy look less bad by ranking Vandy. Watch for more shady nefarious shiate from the ESPN (and ESPN influenced) crowd.

At best, Big 12 gets 2 teams in. Most likely one. Best scenario is that both ISU and BYU run the table and play each other in the Big 12 Championship game. Then, maybe, both get in the CFP.

I don’t have to think an 11-0 ISU would be ranked #3 or 4. They are not in the SEC, their schedule will be used against them. I’d say ISU would peak around #7 or 8 through 11 games.

Agree. We would need help to end up higher than 7.

Too many times I have wanted different teams to do this or that and then we lose (karma). In the immortal words of Al Davis, “just win baby.”

It’s crazy anyone would cheer for BYU and KSU to keep winning to better our chances at an at-large for the CFP. Hate to break it to you, but it’s beyond obvious (just listen to any talk show, podcast etc. from the major networks) the Big 12 is NOT getting an at-large barring just everyone else beating each other and having a bunch of 3 to 4 loss teams.

I want us in the Big 12 Championship Game as I view that as our only ticket in. That and I want to win a conference title to get that monkey off our back. So I am cheering for anyone playing BYU, K State, Colorado and Cincinnati right now.

I’m 95% confident that if ISU goes 12-0 and loses to a ranked team in the Big 12 championship, we will get an at large.

I wouldn’t feel good about those chances. Also, getting to the championship game at 12-0 and losing it would suck. I want to end this insanely long streak without winning the conference. I don’t want an at-large (if that’s even possible) I want to earn it by winning the league.

Obviously I will take and at-large. Just don’t think they would give it to us.

What I want to see is the one loss Big 12 teams lose. Odds are we lose at least one more game. So I'd prefer that Kansas State, Tech, Cinnci and Colorado lose. Honestly, does it matter what BYU does? We have a chance to give Kansas State, Tech, and Cinnci those losses, but it would be good to see them get another one.
The odds literally are not that we lose one more game.

We need KSU to pick up another loss but it does not look likely unfortunately. I feel pretty confident that BYU will pick up 1-2 losses, which is good for us as well. We need those two and probably Cincy to pick up some Ls
I have a sneaky feeling Kansas this coming Saturday is going to give KSU everything they have. They’re trying to stay alive for a bowl at 2-5 and really trying to give themselves a jolt of positive momentum for the rest of the season. Beating K-State in Manhattan would give them that.

Honestly the more ranked teams in the conference it better for the conference as a whole.

Its better to wish other conferences lose, and our top teams keep winning. Its better for our SOS, the SOS of the conf. and the perception of the conf. Not saying I dont love me some KU or KSU tears but its probably better for the overall conference for the top teams to separate themselves and not lose.

Best for the B12 is having 2 undefeated teams in the top 10 going into the CCG. Best for our SOS is if the teams we play moving forward to only lose to us.

Just root for ISU to win at this point.

If ISU goes 12-0 but loses in the Big 12 title game, it highly possible that ISU would host a CFP playoff game at Jack Trice. That wouldn’t be a bad consolation prize.
