I know this is already in a long Amardi thread but for those not following it, last night Jeff Goodman reported that Amardi would sign with Oregon.

That's good news for ISU IMO. I for one didn't want to see him end up in Manhattan.

Best of luck to Richard, glad he didn't end up at Kansas State.

Hope he has a breakout year. Will be rooting for him.

And thank you CW for the new thread. My biggest pet peeve is having to find info on page 43 of some thread.

Can we put that other thread out of it's misery now? :wideeyed:

Fantastic; good for him! Oregon could be an up-and-coming program wil Altman at the helm and building on their success last season. I'll make a point to watch a few of their games now.

Good for Richard. He had a pretty classy statement towards Fred and ISU.
Best of Luck!

No, we must only post in threads that are many pages long and have ***official*** on them! :plaugh:

Hope people actually pay attention to Amardi's statement. He seemed to handle it all quite well. Better than his coach.

What do you expect from his coach? Do you want him to thank ISU for putting the kid in that position? Of course not. The guy is looking out for his players.

I know it's been discussed ad nauseum, but please explain.

And how did the coach's comments help Amardi or other players? If you go the JUCO route in Iowa, do you want you coach burning bridges with Hoiberg?

P.S. I don't really think the coach burned his bridge with Hoiberg because it was probably just venting about his disappointment that Amardi didn't get to play for Iowa State (which had been everyone's plan and hope for months), but his venting about Amardi being let go certainly didn't help him or his players in the future.

I don't think it's burning bridges with Hoiberg that matters. I think it is the other way around. If a kid is good he will have other choices. But if a kid is good and ISU is recruiting him at Indian Hills, the coach might steer him somewhere else. It does help because it says to the kids who are there and who might go there that he has their back.
