Just heard Paul Rhoads say RParker is eligible for a redshirt. Heard it on the Cyline show...

He said Parker is ELIGIBLE, he then said it was up to Parker to take it. The way Rhoads said it I felt like Parker may not want to play anymore. I hope I heard wrong.

If he does take it that would really solidify a very young position. Its real early but this would put the 2 deeps for next year looking like this:

DE: Parker and Maggitt with Neal and Laing backing up.

DT: Johnson and Alburtis with Rump and Black backing up.

Not sure after that.

Yes! Two pieces of good news!

Heck yeah! Hopefully Parker decides to use it. He really was looking very good for a bit there.

Also, great to hear about Reynolds! Has more time to learn the offense, plus get bigger and stronger, and get ahead of his school work.

Good stuff all around.

Why wouldn't he use it? Is he that burned out or ready to graduate?

There are a lot of players that decide to move on after 4 years, even if they have eligibility left. Every season, "Senior Day" includes a handful of redshirt juniors.

You are right..many have graduated already and don't want to hang around an only play football. Sounds pretty good to me.

Those guys give up a free year of school, one more year of the "good old days" of college football, and hot young co-eds to move on to the real world? Are these guys out of their freakin' minds???
