I think jamestaylor was just pointing out the fact that all the commotion doesn't help anything.. not that we are doomed to failure

I'll go ahead and post it... The creator of this thread and the creator of the thread in the link at the bottom of the page are the same person.

Seriously some of you need to realize these things before you dignify these posts. If it looks like someone is trying to get a rise out of you, they probably are. Stop feeding it.

What many of you fail to realize is that there is typically a lot of turnover in the coaching profession. Some of the very best coaches in the country (Nick Saban for one) have tremendous turnover in their staff year in and year out...for two reasons usually...one, they identify a weak guy and get him out quickly before he causes problems or two, they hire a great guy that does great things and he gets a chance to climb the latter to a better slot. Coaching turnover does not equal a problem in my book.

On the other hand, I am concerned about all this focus on recruiting Iowa...I hope that is to try and get our share of the few kids each year that are DI caliber in Iowa and try to develop a strong walkon program. I sincerely hope we focus on recruiting the football hotbeds...Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Florida, etc.

This is a strange thread, with very little "thread" to reality. Yes, PR has had a couple of coaches leave after almost no time on the job in Ames. But it's not like they were leaving to go coach Southern Illinois or Louisiana-Monroe. They left for big time programs, to be closer to their homes, and for more money. It's hard to blame a guy for that. Especially given the unsecure and nomadic existence that college coaches have.

What a terrible comparison. Wow, he lost two SEC coaches back to the SEC. Use your head, if you aren't smart enough to understand the context of the situation, you probably shouldn't post about it.

I was just about to type this very same response to this thread...you beat me to it! Well said though...

I think the move was for security, but not the $$$. Fountain liked working for Chizik, and more importantly, he knew Chizik liked him. He knows it will be for the long haul.
Rhoads had kept him on, but who knows how it would work out in the next year. Fountain could be out on the street after one season.

With Chizdicks level of integrity, his obvious lack of desire to see things through, and of course his complete lack of any coaching skills I don't see Fountain's move gaining him any job security. Most likely Fountain as well as Chizdick will be out of jobs after failing miserably at Auburn. I have to admit that I am rooting for them like I root for the Hawks. I hope they fail in the most miserable and painful fashion possible. Make that fail both in their careers and in life. How can you not hope for the worst when it comes to the scum of the earth?

You mean, like people who juveniley twist a person's name into something vulgar, out of sheer sour grapes?

No I meant coaches who sell out in a hypocritical fashion and people who come on CF to try and be critical of every post that someone puts on here that isn't their own. I wonder if you can figure out who I am referring to? Can't you go find something else to do? I have one guess what the A in AClone stands for. :jimlad:

I see. So you just felt a need to lower yourself to his level. Makes perfect sense.

And by the way, the "A" stands for "Altoona".

No Altoona wasn't my guess. If you haven't noticed on here I am not the only person with a healthy distaste for you. Much like a Hawk fan you serve as nothing more then an annoyance on here that we all try to ignore. Unfortunately sometimes you need to be put in check. I guess tonight was my night to step up. Why don't you try adding something to the thread other then your own personal critique on everyone else's posts. This is called being a member of a message board. The definition of what you do is called being a troll.

If you need me to check your posts and show you what I mean just ask as I would love to help you fix the error in your ways.

Rhoads has had to hire more coaches in the past week than KF has had to hire in the past five years, not a good sign.:jimlad:

It is odd that Iowa doesnt have more coaching turn over. Most programs lose a coach now and then. Heck even Mac did. I think this says more about the Iowa assts than the PR hires. They are just good enough to be BCS coach or their style isnt wanted elsewhere.

Ferentz has a career average record of 7-5. Not bad. Not great either. Has there been a new idea come out of Iowa City in the past decade? Base defense. Run the ball. Play action pass. Just do simple things well and you can do o.k.

7-5 in a bad conference, mediocre at best over that time period. His seasonal average would have been 5-7 if Iowa was in the Big XII or SEC.
